<vote /> Former ZANU-PF activist Acie Lumumba has announced that he plans to form a new political party.

He said this while addressing a Public Meeting on Political Solutions to National Affairs in Harare, and mentioned that,

"I think the time is now that as youths we form our own party that will listen to our concerns. We have been receiving empty promises from the current crop of opposition and ruling party."

He also went on to say,

"Too often youths are not given a platform to address their challenges, these old politicians do not listen to us. We have suffered enough that is why we now want to do it alone. We believe if we form our own party, we will be able to address these shortfalls because we know amongst ourselves what we need to do for this country to move forward. So let me make it categorically clear that my team and I, together with youths from different social spheres are going to come up with a road map and after that we are definitely forming our political party."

The event was cancelled for failing to adhere to the stipulations and regulations of the Public Order and Security Act by way of notifying the police. However, Lumumba addressed the gathered crowd.
