Health and Child Care minister David Parirenyatwa has dismissed advertisements calling on registered nurses to apply for jobs in South Sudan. Parirenyatwa said that
"Both the Ministry of Health and Child Care and the South Sudanese Embassy are not aware of the adverts in the media inviting State Registered Nurses to seek employment in South Sudan."
Parirenyatwa said that there were still negotiations between the two countries on the exportation of health workers,
"Work is still in progress on a government to government with the South Sudanese government on a bilateral agreement on the export of health workers."
An estimated 3 500 nurses are unemployed after they failed to secure jobs locally.
