<vote /> In his closing remarks prosecutor Mr Charles Warara, said that Bikita West parliamentarian, Munyaradzi Kereke should be sent to prison considering the evidence that had been presented before the court which pointed to the fact that Kereke had raped his wife's niece and indecently assaulting the minor.

Mr Warara said,

"In the circumstance, we pray for a conviction as charged in respect of both counts as we proved beyond reasonable doubt the charges. If this case is therefore not found to be fabricated as claimed by the accused, it can only be the accused that is lying. He has to be found guilty as charged on both accounts."

The prosecutor also argued that Kereke was not innocent as he took years to be brought too court and that he was being protected by Prosecutor General Johannes Tomana who was convicted by the Constitutional Court. The doctor's report also confirmed that the minor was raped.

Kereke's lawyer is expected to respond on July 1.
