News:Rushwaya's New Match Fixing Case Set For A September 7 Trial

Suspended Zifa member Edzai Kasinauyo, and former Warriors' assistant coach Nation Dube and former ceo of the local governing body, Henrietta Rushwaya's trial date has been set at 7 September. Rushwaya was represented by Harrison Nkomo.
The three are facing allegations of attempting to fix the Warriors’ 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Swaziland, on Easter weekend, and also move in to try and manipulate matches in the domestic Premiership.
The three had applied for further placement on remand in July this year which was dismissed by the court saying their application was premature. The three have been implicated as being part of the match-fixing cartel, run from South Africa by a shadowy figure named yesterday only as “Chief”, whom Zifa claims is the brother of serial match-fixer Wilson Raj Perumal of Singapore.
In March, Zifa President Philip Chiyangwa dismissed reports that Warriors’ talisman, Khama Billiat, was one of the players implicated but said the cartel had penetrated the South African Premiership and was allegedly fixing matches in Super Diski. Sports and Recreation Minister Makhosini Hlongwane said government was concerned about the latest reports and would leave no stone unturned to ensure that the culprits were brought to book.
The Confederation of African Football also said the allegations were of a “serious” nature and that it had activated mechanisms to ensure that the integrity of the game would not be compromised.
