<vote /> Former Zanu-PF Mashonaland West Province chairman and Youth Advocacy for Reform and Democracy (Yard) leader, Temba Mliswa has endorsed the recent appointment of Nelson Chamisa as one of MDC-T’s three vice-presidents.

Mliswa said,

I have to be honest and congratulate the appointment of Nelson Chamisa into the presidium of the MDC. The elevation of the youth is a clear sign that the Yard ideals have been appreciated by major players in politics. His elevation falls under the purview of Yard to see young people in power. We are looking towards having young people who are credible and not corrupt to take leadership positions. Chamisa is not corrupt, he is charismatic and articulate on issues unlike Kasukuwere and others in Zanu PF who are embedded in corruption.Youths should dictate the future while in office, something that was lacking in Zimbabwe. A party which resonates and supports young people will have full support of Yard. This is a master stroke by president Tsvangirai.

Mliswa added that even if he had presidential ambitions he would willingly stand aside and campaign for Chamisa as he pushes for a youthful president in 2023.

Tsvangirai's appointment of Chamisa and Mudzuri has however been met with criticism and two members have filed court papers seeking to nullify the appointments saying that they infringed the party's constitution.
