<vote /> Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWVA) secretary-general, Victor Matemadanda in an interview with NewsDay that the expelled war veterans will only appeal when Saviour Kasukuwere and Phelekezela Mphoko are removed from Zanu-PF.

Mutemadanda said,

We joined pragmatic parties at the time, Zanu and Zapu, because they were open to criticism and new ideas. Not the kleptocracy and dictatorship we see now. We will only appeal if G40 is removed because we will not be able to work with an ideologically bankrupt Kasukuwere and a manifestly corrupt Mphoko. We cannot be expected to appeal to appease someone or to be forced into tolerating nonsense. We will not appeal because it is as good as appealing to your executioner or your accuser. Mphoko is the head of the appeals committee and, because he has a vested interest in seeing that we do not go back to the party, he will make sure we are gone.
