News:ZRP Transfers Hundreds Of Its Officers From Beitbridge Over July Protest
<vote /> Government has transferred police officers that were stationed in Beitbridge over the July 6 [[1]].
Officers from the Law and Order section were spared because they are the only unit that battled to control Beitbridge rioters. The transfer list runs into 33 pages.
In the wake of Beitbridge riots, State Security Minister Kembo Mohadi blamed ZRP for being ill-prepared,
The police should have contained the situation on time. They had vital information which they could have used to prevent this from happening. This is wrong; we can’t accept that. How can you have thugs destroying key infrastructure when we, as Government, are building? The situation has been contained as roads have been reopened. Criminal elements have withdrawn to their shells, fearing security patrols.
