<vote /> A Zimbabwean journalist was shot and seriously injured by unknown assailants at his house in Maseru, Lesotho under unclear circumstances on Saturday midnight. Lloyd Mutungamiri who is also the editor of Lesotho Times was found by his wife Tsitsi Matope with a bullet in his jaw.

On Sunday Mutungamiri's wife had been quoted saying she suspected the army of attempting to assassinate her husband following stories he had published. She said she had no doubts that the shooting was linked to a recent story published by the newspaper revealing secret negotiations about the exit package for Lesotho's army commander Lieutenant-General Tlali Kamoli.

In 2014 Mutungamiri and senior reporter Lekheto Ntsukunyane were arrested over a story which appeared in the Lesotho Times edition of September 19-25 2014.
