News:Zimbabweans Have Lost $186 Million to Failed Banks

<vote /> Figures from the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe made available recently show that Zimbabweans have lost about USD 186 Million. Such failed banks include Trust Bank, AfrAsia, Royal Bank, Genesis Bank, Allied Bank and Interfin. When a bank fails, depositors are entitled to claim their money from the Deposit Protection Corporation (DPC), however the DPC paid only $500 per individual. The figure was recently reviewed upwards to $1000.
