Nyasha Mushekwi was born on August 21, 1987.[1] He is married to Luminitsa Mushekwi and they have a son together.[2]

Mushekwi is said to have been a jack of all trades when it came to sport as he was heavily involved in hockey, athletics and rugby.[3] At one point he was voted the most valuable player in the Mashonaland Basketball Association League in 2006. Ever since he switched to soccer, his career has been nothing short of phenomenal. Nyasha Mushekwi is said to have started playing soccer while he was at Blackiston Junior School but somehow along the way he ended up being a basketball star in high school and eventually the domestic league[3] Mushekwi started his professional football career at CAPS United Football Club in 2008 under Moses Chunga who was experiencing serious difficulties finding a potent striker.[4] His eventual stint at Makepekepe was more of an accident as the player just wanted to keep fit during the rugby off season and had been turned down by Motor Action Football Club before he tried his luck at the green machine.

Mushekwi played a key role at Makepekepe and was an instant hit in the premier league due to his strength on aerial balls and scoring goals from half chances. Following a very successful season with CAPS, Mushekwi made a move to South Africa where he joined Mamelodi Sundowns. At Sundowns the player also proved to be very effective scoring a number of goals for the club. He was the club's leading goal scorer for two consecutive seasons.[5] However the player seemed to have hit a rough patch as he has been loaned to several clubs as Sundowns have not registered him despite having a running contract with the player.[6] He has been loaned to Belgian side KV KV Oostende and it was also rumoured that the player was on the verge of completing another loan move to Denmark where he was set to join Hobro IK FC for six months as he still had a running contract with Sundowns. He was eventually loaned to Djurgardens of Sweden where he had a fairytale run with the club scoring several goals and getting standing ovations from the spectators on numerous occasions.
