Peter Mufunda is a Zimbabwean lawyer. He is currently the ministry of energy and power development's legal advisor. In August 2017 he was disqualified by the Judicial Services Commission during the interviews for the position of Prosecutor General for not having enough experience.

Education

He graduated with a law degree from the University of Zimbabwe.He also holds a Masters in Business Administration from Eastern and Southern Africa Management Institute(ESAMI).[1]

Career

He worked as regional magistrate from 1985 to 2008 before he joined the Zimbabwe Electricity Regulatory Commission where he served as an Administrator from 2009 to 2012. Mufunda is a legal practitioner at Chengeta Law Chambers. [1]

Vying for position as Prosecutor General

In July 2017 he was announced among the 8 candidates who were going to be interviewed to replace Johannes Tomana. [2] He was however disqualified in August 2017, on the grounds that he lacked experience as a legal practitioner to participate in the interviews as required by the Constitution of Zimbabwe.[3]
