- 2 February 2001: Zimbabwe's chief justice, Anthony Gubbay throws in the towel. He was under pressure from the government after he and the rest of the five-man Supreme Court declared unlawful the government's campaign to seize land from white farmers.
- 2 February 2009: Zimbabwe cholera cases reach almost 63,000. The epidemic, which started in August 2008, has infected 62,909 people, and killed 3,229 others.
