Bruce Grobbelaar is the first and only Zimbabwean to win the European Champions League (then European Cup) in 1984 together with Liverpool. He had an illustrious career for both club and country, winning a total of 13 medals in his 13 playing year career as well as 29 national caps.

He was a member of the famous Dream Team of 1990s, coached by the now late German-born, Reinhard Fabisch, they went on an unbeaten run of 13 matches in the African Nations and World Cup Qualifiers, beating powerhouses like Cameroon, Egypt and Angola.
