Simba Makumbe

Simba Makumbe is a Zimbabwean who committed suicide on Tuesday 27 January 2015 in Bulawayo.^[1] He was aged 18. Simba Makumbe, 18, was found hanging from a tree by his father in Magwegwe North, Bulawayo. Reasons for suicide are not known as his father indicated that the his son was in "jovial mood" prior to the incidence.^[1]

Simba had just completed his Ordinary levels and was awaiting results. he did his form Four at Sikhulile High School was found hanging at around 6AM by his father only identified as Makumbe.^[2]

Simba was the fourth student to commit suicide within a week after other three cases were recorded in different parts of the country. This was after a University of Zimbabwe student Kranos Nyangari had also hanged himself at his parents house in Bulawayo. Another student from the National University of Science and Technology in Bulawayo was also said to have taken a poisonous substance which resulted in his death. Earlier on, another student from the Midlands State University in Gweru was also said to have taken a poisonous substance just outside the University administration block resulting in his death.
