Sunungukai Community Game Park and Lodging
Sunungukai was established in 1993 under the CAMPFIRE scheme. A community managed wilderness / wildlife area. More recently it has been leased by Iain Jarvis, an environmentalist who has invested and upgraded, and raised the public profile. It is on the east bank of the Mazowe River, at Nyagande, and is 120 km north east of Harare.
Location and contact details
Out of Harare, NE on the Malawi Highway. Turn north at Mrewa (85 km), onto the Mutawatawa Road, 57 kms, to Kavenge. A small place of four or five shops, look out for powerlines crossing the road.
