Tinashe Nyamudoka is a Zimbabwean sommelier based in Cape Town in South Africa. He is the head sommelier and beverage manager at The Test Kitchen Restaurant.
Nyamudoka has a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Science from the University of South Africa (UNISA).
Nyamudoka moved to Cape Town in early 2008 with no clue about wine nor its styles and colour. His first opportunity arose in the hospitality industry at the Roundhouse Restaurant in Camps Bay. He was one of the 50 candidates who had applied to work in this new establishment. His then went on to work at the Showroom Restaurant for 6 months, before it closed down. Luckily he was able to start as a Wine Steward at the One & Only Hotel in Cape Town which had just opened. At One & Only Hotel Nyamudoka worked with established Sommeliers, such as Andre Bekker, Eric Botha and Luvo Ntezo who mentored him on the art of wine making.
Tinashe enrolled with the Cape Wine Academy in 2010 to further his knowledge in wines. He successfully completed his South African Wine and Certificate Wine courses and in 2013 his Wines of the World and Wine & Food courses.
In 2013, Nyamudoka was chosen by the One & Only Hotel to be their candidate for the Cape Legends Inter Hotel Challenge where he walked away with the Wine Steward title.
