Viscount Disasters
Between 1978 and 1979, two Air Rhodesia civilian planes were shot down by ZIPRA cadres. This is said to have acted as a catalyst to the end of the liberation struggle / Second Chimurenga. In September 1978, Air Rhodesia RH 825 was shot down, and in 1979, Air Rhodesia 827 was shot down.[1]
