WeChat is a Chinese mobile app that has messaging, social media and payments. It is developed by one if the largest Chinese internet companies called Tencent.
WeChat was first released in 2011 with features inspired by the then already popular WhatsApp. It has over 1 billion monthly active users, most of them in China.
