Zimbabwe International Carnival

Is a public celebration that show cases diverse culture and tradition meant to increase tourist arrivals in the country.

Founding

The annual event was launched the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) in May 2013.The event which ran under the theme 'Celebrating our Cultural Diversity' ran from the 21st to the 26th of May.^[1] More tha ten countries including Seychells, Italy and the United States participated at the carnival that presented the country with a platform to show case its tourism, trade and culture and investment potential. On August 23 the same year a second carnival was held in Victoria Falls as a welcome gesture for tourists who were to attend the United Nations World Tourism Organisation General Assembly.^[2]

International Acts

Robert Sylvester Kelly popularly known as R Kelly is billed to perform at the 2014 edition.^[3]
