Zimi Mabunzi is a South African model who was the Miss South Africa 2021 second runner up. She made history by being part of the first trio to be comprised of black women.
Zimi Mabunzi is from eQonce (King William's Town) Eastern Cape. She has two older sisters, Yolisa, who in 2021 was working while funding her psychology studies, and Lulama, a Warrant Officer with the SAPS, who in 2021 was also furthering her studies in law.
When she was crowned the second Miss Eastern Cape, Mabunzi won a bursary by major developers Billion Group, covering her tuition, books and personal expenses. She enrolled at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU). Zimi Mabunzi was forced to drop out due to financial reasons after her first year at the University of Cape Town in 2014.
Career As A Model
In 2016 she was crowned the second Miss Eastern Cape. Zimi Mabunzi won a bursary and a VW Up.
Miss South Africa 2021
Zimi Mabunzi received the popular vote ahead of the Miss South Africa 2021 finals. She was the second runner up with Lalela Mswane being crowned Miss South Africa 2021 and Moratwe Masima the first runner up.
