In January 2010, Andrew Matibiri was on court for criminal abuse of power as a public officer. It is alleged he allocated himself eight growers numbers, and then sold tobacco belonging to Saltlakes Holdings, a company owned by Zanu PF Mashonaland West secretary for lands Temba Mliswa. The tobacco is alleged to have not met the requirements of the board and was from the previous season. In March 2019, the TIMB management was ordered by the parliament’s lands and agriculture committee to submit financial statements amid claims of corruption against the Monica Chinamasa chaired board.
