Augustine Mbara is a professional footballer who plays for Dynamos Football Club in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League.


Mbara was born on December 30, 1991.[1] He is also brother to former Dembare playmaker, Prince Mbara


He attended Lord Malvern High School for his secondary education.[2]


Mbara is a highly skilled left footballer known for his defensive skills. He was also part of the group of players that were suspended by ZIFA for having partaken in a match fixing scandal.[3] He plays as both defender and defensive midfielder for DeMbare. In 2013, his contract at Dynamos was renewed following his good performance in the field of play. He is one of the youngsters believed to be the future of the Harare Giants.[4]

Asiagate Scandal

Mbara was part of the Zimbabwe National Soccer Team players who were accused of taking part in the ill-fated Asia trips. The trips involved match-fixing and some corrupt tendencies. It began to be known as the Asiagate Scanda. Mbara was suspended before the subsequent acquittal by the Zimbabwe Football Association.[6]
