Chiedza 'Chi' Brown was the daughter of legendary Zimbabwean singers, Andy Brown and Chiwoniso Maraire. She was also sister to singer/song writer Ammara Brown. Faced with the pressures of life[1], Chiedza would tragically take her own life in September 2015[1].

Background

Chiedza Zvondiwe Brown was born on 13 December 1999 in Harare, Zimbabwe to Andy Brown and Chiwoniso Maraire. After being a pre-mature baby, her father would pour her with love and affection[1]. Her parents had another daughter together, Chengeto, while her father had 8 other children, Ammara Brown being one of them. After her parents passing, Chi would relocate to Texas, USA together with her elder sister, Chengeto and live with her aunt Tawona Gatson.

Musical Skills

In 2011 at the ZIFF backstage Ammara would notice her playing skills after their father alert her. She would be playing "Next Lifetime" which not long after would be dedicated to Andy Brown himself at his funeral[1]. She would go on to show her musical proneness at her mothers funeral not long after.
