Johannes Relleke was a Zimbabwean man who broke the Guinness Book of World Record on 28 January 1962 for the greatest number of bee stings sustained by any surviving human subject. A total of 2,443 were removed and counted from his body.[1] He used to live at Kamativi tin mine, Gwaii River, Hwange District in the Matabeleland North Province of Zimbabwe, then Rhodesia.[1]
