Maidei Mpala is a Zimbabwe African National Union - Patriotic Front member and also a member of parliament for Lobengula constituency. She claimed the seat in 2015 following the expulsion of former MDC-T member Samuel Sipepa Nkomo who had defected to MDC Renewal Team. In the by-election in which Mpala emerged victorious, the MDC which had recalled Sipepa Nkomo did not field a candidate citing irregularities in the electoral process.
