Mark Essien is an acclaimed Nigerian-born entrepreneur, founder and CEO of Hotels.ng
Background
Career
His first job was a watchman in Germany where he used to offer security services to a paralysed man. He used to keep himself awake at night writing code so that he could make sure there were no life-threatening situations in his ward.[1] Essien rose to prominence when he founded Hotels.ng which grew to become the largest hotel booking site in Nigeria.[2] He sold his first software to Bertelsmann Software after which he started developing apple apps.[3] The company also managed to secure a $1.2m from several international investors.
