drafted into the national side when he was just nineteen years old and went to have a very
rewarding career playing both international and franchise cricket. 

The former Chevrons captain holds the world record for the youngest player to captain a national
side when he was appointed team captain aged 20. Taibu was a very talented wicket keeper as well
as batsman. He has the second highest dismissals as a ODI wicketkeeper for Zimbabwe after another
iconic Zimbabwean wicket keeper and captain, [[Andy Flower]]

His career came to a screeching halt when he 
announced that he was retiring from the game in 2011 to concentrate on the word of "God".
