Tkay Maidza is a Zimbabwean hip-hop artist based in Australia.
Background
Maidza was born in Zimbabwe in 1996 but later on moved to Australia with her parents when she was aged five.[1]
Career
It was during her first year of university that she started mixing songs in her father's studio who is also a musician in his own right.[2] She then went on to release a mixtape on soundcloud which immediately went viral.[2] Although she has been in the music circles for less than two years, she has had sell out performances at clubs in Australia and has also toured the country.[3] With the consent of her parents, she dropped out of univeristy to focus more on her music career.
