Duties and Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Installing and configuring hardware and software.
- Repairing or replacing damaged hardware.
- Installing and upgrading anti-virus software to ensure security at the user level.
- Providing support to users and being the first point of contact for error reporting.
- Developing and maintaining local networks.
- Organising and scheduling upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work.
- Troubleshooting to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Maintaining hardware and software inventory.
- Supervising Technicians;
- Manning Computer Laboratories.
- Training users.
- Any other duties as assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Master’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent plus three (3) years relevant working experience or a Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent plus five (5) relevant working experience.
- In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks.
- Proven experience as IT Technician or relevant position.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
- CompTIA A+, MTA, CCNA, or LPI certification will be an added advantage.
