Job Description

The Zimbabwe School of Mines is a mining school in Zimbabwe that provides a higher education qualification in mining by providing competency-based training for high-caliber, hands-on technicians. These positions are (part time) which exist to execute the School's mandate as stipulated in the ZSM Charter, implementing research and innovation strategies as directed by the Head of Business Development and Innovation.

Reporting to: HOD Business Development and Innovation.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Gemstone Classification,
  • Gemstones Grading,
  • Gemstone Processing,
  • Cutting and Polishing Workshop Practice,
  • Health, Safety, Security, and Environment,
  • Principles in Gemology,
  • Gemology Management and Planning.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Certificate in gemstone cutting and polishing.
  • A postgraduate qualification, diploma, or degree is an added advantage.
  • A  minimum of two years of industrial work experience.
