
Section Head (Technical Training)
Job Description
The company is inviting suitably qualified, motivated and experienced staff to fill the following vacancy that has arisen in Zimbabwe Power Company.
This is a key position reporting to the Human Resources Manager at Hwange Power Station and work closely with the Training Manager ZPC Head Office and Training and Development Manager at ZESA National Training Centre. The incumbent will lead and drive the development and successful implementation of technical learning programs at Hwange Power Station.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops, implements and monitors technical training frameWiork at Hwange Power Station to ensure the workforce is skilled and competent to meet station requirements.
- Provides advice and support on technical learning and development at the station.
- Collaborates with key internal and external stakeholders on areas of common interest to ensure station training needs are adequately met.
- Identifies the level of staff technical knowledge and experience at the Station and designs appropriate programs to close any gaps.
Qualifications and Experience
- Adegree in Engineering or Social Science.
- At least 8 years' relevant experience of which 5 should be at a senior level.
- Post Graduate qualification such as an MBA/MBL or equivalent is an added advantage.
- A Diploma in Training is a requirement.
- Membership of a recognized professional institution.
Essential Competencies
- Knowledge and proven ability in design, delivery and coordination of technical learning and development frameworks and programs in a heavy industry or similar set -ups.
- Experience in designing technical course content.
- Ability to address training needs with complete courses.
- Strong analytical skills.
