Former president Robert Mugabe has attacked his successor and former confidante for more than half a century President Emmerson Mnangagwa. Mugabe said that since 1980 he has had misgivings about Mnangagwa and repeated allegations which were first made by former first lady Grace Mugabe, at a Church Interface Rally in November 2017. Grace claimed then, that Mnangagwa has always been plotting against Mugabe and tried to engineer a coup in 1980. Mnangagwa allegedly lied to Mugabe that white people were trying to kill him in order to get him out of the country so that he could take power unencumbered.
Speaking to the media ahead of tomorrow’s harmonised elections, Mugabe said,
<blockquote>What really gave me a judgment about him was when in 1980, after the people’s vote, and before the results were announced he and David Stannard, of the whites he was working within CIO, came to me and said, “you’re under threat. You, Nyagumbo and Nkala please leave the country.
…The three of us were known to be the militants and we left. Samora Machel (Mozambican President) said why have you come? We told him that we had been told we are under threat and we had to leave. Samora said come on, get back.
….“We told Mnangagwa we are coming back because Samora wouldn’t have us, he said, “please don’t come back, I repeat don’t come back, don’t!” We said no, let’s go. We came back, they received us and nothing happened. I said to him why? He said for security reasons we thought you would be more secure outside. To this day, I still ask myself questions. Nyagumbo and Nkala were angry, what did they want to do which would not be possible with us in the country?</blockquote>
Surprisingly, Mugabe claimed that he did not know that Mnangagwa was eyeing his position until it was too late. However, in 2004 Mugabe demoted Mnangagwa to the position of Minister of Rural Amenities after the Tslototsho declaration which sought to have Mnangagwa elevated to Vice President was exposed.

Mugabe Repeats Grace's Allegation That Mnangagwa Started Plotting In 1980

The Zimbabwe Ministers’ Fraternal (Zimef), a group of pastors, have denounced Bishop Johannes Ndanga the self-proclaimed life president of the Apostolic Christian Council of Zimbabwe (ACCZ) as a false prophet. This comes after Ndanga declared that former president Robert Mugabe would rule Zimbabwe until his death. Ndanga is alleged to be one of the main organisers of the Super Sunday, Church Interface Rally which former first lady Grace Mugabe used to attack then Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa, making numerous allegations against him.
Zimef chairperson Reverend Nicholas Mavondo said:
<blockquote>Ndanga told Mugabe in his false prophecy that he was going to rule forever, but what happened? Two weeks down the line, Mugabe was gone. We also want him (Ndanga) to explain what happened to the money he collected for pastors’ stands.</blockquote>
In 2013, Ndanga said:
<blockquote>As the ACCZ we stand guided by a 1934 prophecy by prophet Masedza that Mugabe would rule this country until he dies hence we will support him at the elections to ensure the prophecy comes to pass.</blockquote>

Pastors Denounce Bishop Ndanga For False Prophecy Claiming That Mugabe Would Rule Forever

First Lady Grace Mugabe has warned supporters of underfire Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa that all those causing disruptions in Zanu-PF will be dropped before the Zanu-PF Extraordinary Congress set for next month. Grace was speaking at the Super Sunday Church Interface Rally held at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday. She attacked Mnangagwa and said that his supporters were as good as dead. Said Grace.
<blockquote>Madzimai anoita zve Lacoste you are dead. Chipanga mayouth anoita zve Lacoste, they are gone.
[All the members of the Zanu-PF Women’s League who belong to the Team Lacoste Faction are “dead.” (Zanu-PF Youth League Leader Kudzai) Chipanga all the youth league members who belong to the Team Lacoste Faction are gone.]</blockquote>
Grace also revealed that before the Congress all positions will be dissolved except for President Robert Mugabe. Some of the senior officials will be dropped at the Congress. The first lady advised that all those who lose their positions can go into farming.

First lady Grace Mugabe has shown that the gloves are off as she launched into a scathing attack on Vice President Emmerson Mnangwagwa at the Church Interface Rally held at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday. Here are some of the charges she laid against Mnangagwa.
<blockquote>1. Mnangagwa has always been plotting against President Robert Mugabe and tried to engineer a coup against Mugabe in 1980. Mnangagwa allegedly lied to Mugabe that white people were trying to kill him in order to get Mugabe out of the country so that he could take power unencumbered.
2. Mnangagwa has been fighting against Grace Mugabe because he wants to safeguard his job. Grace claims that Mnangagwa was distressed that her call to have one of the country’s vice president post go to a woman would leave him jobless.
3. Mnangagwa was signalling to the crowd to start booing the first lady when she was speaking at the Youth Interface Rally in Bulawayo yesterday. President Robert Mugabe also accused the people who were booing his wife to have been hired to do so by alleged Mnangagwa supporters.
4. Mnangagwa was pointing to himself with his thumbs when he was dancing to Jah Prayzah’s hit song “Mudhara Achauya,” allegedly referring to himself as the long-awaited leader who was going to come and rescue Zimbabwe. Grace Mugabe went as far as demonstrating to the crowd how Mnangagwa was pointing to himself.
5. Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa was against the promotion of his former ally Shuvai Mahofa to the position of Minister of State for Masvingo Province. Grace alleged that Mnangagwa had argued against Mahofa’s appointment saying that she could not walk. The first lady further alleged that she is the one who advocated for Mahofa’s appointment saying that she should not be discriminated against because she was “disabled.”
6. Mnangagwa has double standards as he accused Minister of Local Government Saviour Kasukuwere of using nepotism as his younger brother Tongai was also in the Zanu-PF Youth League. She went on to add that Mnangagwa had left his seat as MP for Chirumhanzu-Zibagwe constituency to his wife Auxillia yet he accused others of nepotism.
7. Mnangagwa claimed that he is the one who started the Command Agriculture programme yet it was Grace Mugabe’s idea. Grace claimed that she is the one who told the Politburo that Zimbabweans should not be beggars and that they should produce their own food only for Mnangagwa to claim the credit.</blockquote>

7 Allegations That Grace Mugabe Made Against Mnangagwa at Church Interface Rally

Minister of State for Harare Metropolitan Province Miriam Chikukwa has claimed that President Robert Mugabe cannot be removed by man as he was not appointed by man. Chikukwa claims that Mugabe was divinely appointed by God.
Chikukwa goes on to add that because Mugabe loves God, God is fighting on Mugabe’s behalf against his enemies. Chikukwa quotes Exodus 23:22, which says
<blockquote>If you listen carefully to what he says and do all that I say, I will be an enemy to your enemies and will oppose those who oppose you.</blockquote>
Chikukwa was giving her opening remarks at the Church Interface Rally which has been nicknamed Super Sunday at Rufaro Stadium in Mbare.
