Zimbabwean musicians, Tocky Vibes and ExQ are reportedly working towards resolving <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2021/05/03/exqs-wakatemba-taken-down-from-youtube-after-row-with-tocky-vibes/">their dispute that resulted in the song Wakatemba</a> which they recorded together being pulled down from YouTube.
The dispute allegedly resulted from <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/EX-Q">ExQ, born Enock Munhenga,</a> failing to honour the gentlemen agreement he made with Tocky when they recorded Wakatemba.
It is reported that after Wakatemba which is attributed to ExQ, the duo had to record another song that would be attributed to Tocky Vibes but ExQ has not been forthcoming despite numerous calls from Tocky.
Resultantly, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Tocky_Vibes">Tocky Vibes, real name Obey Makamure</a>, decided to make a copyright claim that resulted in the song being pulled down.
Nehanda Radio reports that the duo is reportedly working on finding a solution to the dispute with ExQ said to have agreed to respect the original agreement.

UPDATE: Tocky Vibes, ExQ Dispute Over Song Wakatemba

Tocky Vibes and ExQ are embroiled in a dispute over the latter’s single “Wakatemba” which has resulted in the video being taken down on YouTube.
According to TechZim, after creating Wakatemba, Tocky Vibes and ExQ agreed that they would collaborate on a Tocky Vibes song.
However, Tocky says ExQ’s camp reneged, and are refusing to honour what they agreed on.
As a result, Tocky made a copyright claim to YouTube and Wakatemba has been taken down.
Both the official audio and official videos appear to be taken down as they are no longer available on ExQ’s YouTube channel.
Both audio and video no longer turn up in results when you search for them on YouTube.
The song however is still available on Spotify where it is credited to ExQ.

Star FM’s Inaugural Music Awards were held on the night of 1 February 2019. The artist that took the most awards home was ExQ. He was nominated 6 times and he won 5 awards.
ExQ won the following awards:

Musician ExQ confirmed to Daily News that he has ventured into condom production.
The condoms are called “MR Putiti” with the tagline “safe sex with Mr P is sweet sex”. They also have a Military Touch Movement logo at the back.
ExQ however was unable to shed more light on other aspects of the product as it has not been launched. He further said that he will be launching them as soon as the consignment arrives. Said ExQ:
<blockquote>Yes I have seen the pictures (of the condoms) circulating, they are my products and they had gone for testing and were approved.</blockquote>

Military Touch Movement musician ExQ has been accused of copying Nigerian musicians Patoraking and Tekno on his latest album Tseu Tseu.
Social media sensation Wellence Mujuru produced a series of videos comparing the songs which have striking resemblances. Mujuru says ExQ’s song ‘Let’s talk about it’, which features Nutty O, sounds like Nigeria’s Mr Eazi’s Hollup, while Nzenza sounds like Nigerian Patoranking’s This Kind Love. He also says the song Tsaga of the year has similarities with Major Lazer’s Run Up and Tsvigiri is similar to Nigerian Tekno’s Wash.
Mujuru said it was not fair for other singers, during awards, to be in competition with such artistes who would have copied music and got away with it. He suggested that at awards ceremonies there must be two categories for those who copy and those with original creative Zimbabwe work. The Chronicle could not get in touch with Dj Tamuka who produced ExQ’s album.

ExQ Releases Video For Tsvigiri

Military Touch Movement (MTM) manager Keen Mushapaidze said that ExQ will not release a video for his Killer T assisted hit song “Nhema” whose audio version has surpassed 1 million views on YouTube.
Mushapaidze said there is no need for a video for the song since it is already popular. Said Mushapaidze:
<blockquote>A number of views that a song garners on YouTube does not guarantee a video. In actual fact videos are made to promote a song and if you’ve one that’s big already what’s the point of making a video for a song that is already big. Unless if ExQ then specifically says that he wants a video for Nhema, but at this moment we share basically the same sentiments.</blockquote>
Last year in August, ExQ was supposed to launch his album, Tseu Tseu but posted on his Facebook page that the album was deferred. He did not give any information of when the album will be released.

<a href="http://www.pindula.co.zw/EX-Q">ExQ</a> clinched a deal with MTN South Africa where users can request his tracks to be their caller ringing tones.
Speaking to Zimtainment, ExQ gave details on how the deal came about:

After the success of Bhachura video on TraceTV Africa, my management team, OMG Studios based in South Africa decided to provide new ways to get my music to all my fans in South Africa. Partnering with Military Touch Movement, OMG Studios digital distribution partner facilitated the deal to get my music on the MTN digital music platform.

This year OMG Studios and Military Touch Movement are working on expanding ExQ’s music throughout southern and eastern Africa.
