The <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Sports_and_Recreation_Commission">Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC)</a> has said <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Felton_Kamambo">Felton Kamambo</a> must advise FIFA that he was no longer the president of the <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zimbabwe_Football_Association_(ZIFA)">Zimbabwe Football Association</a> <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zimbabwe_Football_Association_(ZIFA)">(ZIFA).</a>
Kamambo and several other ZIFA officials <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/sports-and-recreation-commission-suspends-zifa-board/">were recalled from office</a> by the SRC on November 26 2021 for alleged maladministration and sexual abuse of female referees.
Nevertheless, FIFA, the world football governing board, still recognises Kamambo and his suspended administration as the official office holders.
FIFA banned Zimbabwe from all of the association’s sanctioned matches arguing that Kamambo’s suspension constituted government interference with the sport.
Last Friday marked a year since Zimbabwe was suspended from the Fifa football family.
Some stakeholders have been calling on SRC to reinstate the Kamambo-led administration, a condition which FIFA gave for the lifting of the ban on Zimbabwe. 
But the SRC says they are no longer in any position to legally reinstate Kamambo since he was recalled by the Zifa congress. SRC board chairman Gerald Mlothswa is quoted by the Standard as saying:
<blockquote>
It is a fact that Mr Felton Kamambo is no longer the Zifa president, having been recalled by his own congress. It follows, logically, that the SRC is not able to reinstate him to that position. Any such attempt would, ironically, be blatantly unlawful in terms of Zifa’s current constitution as well as the Sports and Recreation Commission Act.
It is most regrettable that certain legislators continue to demand that the SRC ignore the resolutions of the Zifa congress, violate Zifa’s constitution, and, incredibly, its own Act, a product of the Parliament of Zimbabwe, in reinstating Mr Kamambo.
There is therefore no legal basis upon which Zifa or indeed the SRC can request Messrs. Kamambo and Mamutse to correspond with Fifa, nor can the latter organization, in light of its views on the outcome of the EGM of April, 2022, demand the same of those persons.
If anything, it is perhaps the correct, if not patriotic thing to do, for these recalled Zifa executive committee members and the suspended general secretary, to formally advise Fifa that they no longer hold office. They owe this nation an apology.
</blockquote>
The SRC insists it has already complied with most of the demands from FIFA for the lifting of the country’s suspension except those that are beyond them such as reinstating Kamambo as the ZIFA president.
It also highlighted that the mandate of the Zifa restructuring committee came to an end in December last year.

Kamambo Must Advise FIFA He's No Longer ZIFA President - SRC

It has been exactly a year since Zimbabwe was suspended by FIFA.
FIFA announced their decision to <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2022/02/24/full-text-fifa-suspends-zimbabwe-from-international-competitions/">suspend Zimbabwe </a>on February 25 last year.
This was after the Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC)&#8217;s decision to suspend the <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Felton_Kamambo">Felton Kamambo</a>-led ZIFA executive for several violations, chief among them failure to account public funds.
A restructuring committee was appointed by the <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Gerald_Mlotshwa">Gerald Mlotshwa</a>-led SRC was appointed to oversee the process of restoring sanity to Zimbabwean football.
Kamambo was recalled at an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) held on April 23 and replaced by <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Gift_Banda">Gift Banda </a>on an interim basis.
But FIFA refused to acknowledge the Banda-led administration, insisting that the only condition for the sanction on Zimbabwe to be lifted, is the unconditional reinstatement of Kamambo.
The SRC however  insists getting the ban lifted is not the priority. 
France-based Warriors midfielder <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Marshal_Munetsi">/Marshall Munetsi</a> has been the most outspoken footballer concerning the effects of the ban, which has seen all national teams missing out on international competitions.

1 Year Of Isolation For Zimbabwean Football

Local football commentator, George Deda, says Zimbabwe&#8217;s suspension from international football will cost the careers of multitudes of young footballers in the country.
Speaking to <a href="https://www.manicapost.co.zw/fifa-ban-young-talent-pays-the-cost/">The Manica Post</a>, Deda said local players will not be able to get national team caps which are an essential component of every player’s Curriculum Vitae. He said:
<blockquote>
It is very important for a player to get international caps. It is much easier even if you are talking to foreign clubs that this player has represented his country from Under-17, 20, 23 and so on.
In most cases, we hear of players being signed by Liverpool, for example, and you hear that the deal is subject to securing a work permit.
Securing a work permit for a foreign player takes into account how many matches one played for his country of origin.
This is why about 10 to 15 years ago no player would get a foreign contract if one had not served his country in at least 20 to 25 international caps.
This is why we saw some players being called for national duty and spending the greater part of the match on the bench, only to be introduced for two or three minutes of regulation time remaining.
It was a way of trying to help the players get international caps. Caps do not matter how many minutes you have played, but featuring on the team card.
In some countries like Spain, Germany and many more it is very difficult for a foreign player to get a contract if they do not have the requisite national team caps.
It is a form of certification that a given player is a good player because he has been outstanding in his own country.

Zimbabwe was banned from participating in international football tournaments in 2022 by FIFA due to &#8220;third-party interference&#8221;.
That was after the Gerald Mlotshwa-led Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) suspended the Felton Kamambo-led ZIFA board on allegations of misappropriation of public funds and sexual harassment of female referees, among others.
It is now almost a year since the ban was ratified by the FIFA Congress and the country has since missed several international games that include the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.

Young Zim Football Talent Paying The Price For FIFA Ban, Says Deda

Suspended <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zimbabwe_Football_Association_(ZIFA)">Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA)</a> executives <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Felton_Kamambo">Felton Kamambo</a>, Philemon Machana, Stanley Chapeta, Joseph Mamutse and Bryton Malandule have all disputed claims that they used ZIFA letterhead while they were on suspension.
The five are being charged with fraud, an allegation they believe is a fabrication and based on a personal vendetta.
The trial opened Thursday morning before regional magistrate Taurai Manuwere where the five through their lawyer Admire Rubaya tendering their defence to the allegations.
The five argued that <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Sports_and_Recreation_Commission">Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC)</a> board chair <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Gerald_Mlotshwa">Gerald Mlothswa</a> has a grudge against Machana for causing his arrest in 2004 and an abuse of the justice delivery system. Their defence outline read:

The accused persons assert that this case is a clear case of abuse of the criminal justice system by members of the SRC board who have been misinforming the political leadership of the republic as well as the general populace.
They further assert that the SRC board chair has a vendetta against the second accused person for causing his arrest sometime around 2004 when the second accused was still an accountant for the company which complained against the SRC board chairperson.

They said their suspension is of no effect as it is not recognized by FIFA and CAF and has caused the suspension of the country’s football and reduced the local league to a boozers’ tournament.
It is also their argument that the move by SRC is a diversionary tactic to have the nation banned in the guise of interference yet the reason is a lack of proper infrastructure.

Suspended ZIFA Board Disputes Using The Association's Letterhead

The Warriors are expected to arrive in the country this afternoon from Ghana where they lost 3 -1 in a FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 qualifier at the hands of the Black Stars.
The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) announced this morning adding that England-based Tendayi Darikwa will not be part of the team to play Ghana on Tuesday. ZIFA said:

The Warriors return from Ghana at 1235 hours this afternoon.
Takudzwa Chimwemwe &amp; Gerald Takwara have been added to the squad that lost 1-3 to Ghana.
Tendayi Darikwa is out of the team attending to family matters in England

Meanwhile, a contingent of players, technical team, management members and other key officials from Ghana have arrived in Harare, for the Tuesday clash.
They departed Accra for Harare Sunday afternoon via Asky Airlines. Ghana Football Association reported:

Ghana Arrives For Zimbabwe Match, Warriors Yet To Come Back

Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) board member in charge of competitions, Sugar Chagonda, has become the football association’s first executive member to demand Warriors coach Zdravko “Loga” Logarusic to be sacked.
Chagonda, who is in Ethiopia as head of the delegation, was in the Bahir Dah Stadium as Loga’s men fell 1-0 to Ethiopia in a World Cup Group G qualifier on Tuesday.
In his letter to ZIFA president Felton Kamambo and fellow board members, Chagonda said the Warriors could continue to sink should ZIFA not act fast and wield the axe on the 55-year-old Croat. He wrote:
<blockquote>
Mr President, I am sorry to say, but I wish to vehemently pursue and sustain an argument from our recent board meeting that the head coach, Zdravko Logarusic, is now a liability and an albatross on our neck.
True to your word, football has talked. Beyond the facts laid before us to the fact that the national team coach lacks basic appreciation of the game, he is too temperamental and lacks leadership skills.
The coach does not consult other members of the technical team; that is if he plans his workout because I am reliably informed his training programme does not change (he has one predictable training drill)…
The long and short of it, Mr President, my recommendation is to part ways with Mr Logarusic immediately.

Loga has been in the Warriors dugout for 14 matches and he has won only one match, a 1-0 victory over Botswana that sealed the Warriors’ qualification for the belated 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals.

ZIFA Board Member Calls For Logarusic's Sacking

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) President Felton Kamambo, executive committee member Sugar Chagonda, and CEO Joseph Mamutse were in Masvingo on Saturday to commemorate retired Eastern Region administrator Tadious Machawira&#8217;s long service.
Also present was the Eastern Region chairperson Davison Muchena and vice-chair Wisdom Simba, Executive Committee members Patient Dube and Farai Rutsvara, and Masvingo province chair Nobioth Magwizi.
During his tenure, Machawira was instrumental in the formation of the Eastern Region and he played a role in the formation of the Premier Soccer League.
In his remarks on the phenomenal journey he has walked with Machawira, Muchena narrated of how the retired great literally carried him from provincial politics to the regional post he holds today.
President Kamambo too has a story to tell about how his journey in the central region was intertwined with Machawira who was in the Eastern Region.
That is how influential the man was and shall remain in the local game.

ZIFA Commemorates Retired Administrator Tadious Machawira

Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) president Felton Kamambo said they have set the 20th of October as the date for the commencement of Premier Soccer League (PSL) matches.
Kamambo was speaking in the Lowveld this Friday when he toured Greenfuel soccer facilities together with some committee members.
The ZIFA boss also revealed that the association is considering constructing at least twenty stadiums across the country. He said:
<blockquote>We have written to the SRC seeking permission to resume our PSL training on the 14th of this month with the intention to have the matches commence on the 20th of next month.
We have the passion to develop our local football as such our aim is to construct at least two stadiums per province and if the stakeholders agree, this site may be considered as one of the beneficiaries.</blockquote>
Greenfuel Football Club is currently in the Division 1 league and the club is optimistic the visit by the ZIFA delegation will see their stadium being allowed to host top-flight matches.
The 2020 PSL season was set to commence in March but the government banned all sporting activities in the same month in a bid to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus outbreak.

ZIFA Eyes October 20 For The Return Of PSL Matches

Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) President Felton Kamambo will this week appear in court on alleged bribery charges, Sunday News reports. Kamambo according to the publication was served with summons by the National Prosecuting Authority to avail himself at Rotten Row Court on Tuesday 25 August, to answer the bribery charges.
The development was confirmed by  Chenaimoyo Gumiro the ZIFA lawyer who is also representing Kamambo in the case. Gumiro said:
<blockquote>I confirm that he (Kamambo) was served with the summons to appear for trial on 25 August to face bribery charges. We are yet to be furnished with the State papers, we have made several attempts but to no avail.
All we know for now is that the allegations herein are the same allegations he was charged with and prosecution was declined by the National Prosecuting Authority. So, we are yet to know from the state papers what has changed from the previous position taken by the state.
The president has no case at all, it takes two to commit an offence of bribery, so someone has to come and confess he committed an offence</blockquote>
Meanwhile, some councillors accused of taking bribes to vote for Kamambo in the election that ushered him into the office ahead of former ZIFA president Philip Chiyangwa are also appearing in court on the same day with Kamambo.

Kamambo To Appear In Court On Bribery Charges

32 ZIFA Councillors fingered in 2018 ZIFA Election scandal that ushered Felton Kamambo into office will stand before the court on 25 August, the Chronicle reports. The 32 are said to be cooperating with ZRP officers investigating the issue except for 5 councillors from Midlands who have been hostile and reportedly refused to give recorded statements.
A ZRP source that spoke to the publication on condition of anonymity said:
<blockquote>Trial date is August 25, all the papers are ready. We interviewed all, but five councillors in this case. The five from the Midlands were not cooperating, but that’s not a big issue, they will have their day in court.</blockquote>
Kamambo in 2018 got 35 votes against Chiyangwa’s 24 votes, and ZRP has interviewed councillors who were said to have received various sums of money to vote for Kamambo in the elections. Some have already admitted that they accepted the bribes by admitting they got $300 to vote for the current ZIFA president.

32 ZIFA Councillors Accused Of Taking Bribes To Appear Before The Court

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA), on Thursday passed a resolution to provide Premier Soccer League (PSL) clubs with a bailout as a relief package during this coronavirus crisis.
Speaking after the Association&#8217;s executive committee meeting in Harare on Thursday, ZIFA president Felton Kamambo revealed that each PSL team will get $360 000 (US$5 600) as a relief package to mitigate the effects COVID-19.
ZIFA has received the money from both FIFA and the Confederation of African Football (CAF). Kamambo said:
<blockquote>&#8230; FIFA has finally allocated Zimbabwe among other FAs US$1.5 million.
We are going to get US$1 million of the US$1,5 million this month, US$500 000 is allocated to women and the other US$500 000 to other affiliates.
The other US$500 000 we will get it in January. So, what we have done is that we are going to disburse $110.5 million.</blockquote>
Kamambo also gave a breakdown of the disbursements to the PSL clubs, with the season in limbo after it failed to commence in March due to the novel coronavirus. He said:
<blockquote>The highlight on our disbursement is that the PSL will get a total of $25.6 million. The PSL clubs are going to share a total of $6,5 million then the administration has been allocated $1.3 million. In terms of Covid-19 baseline testing, we have allocated $4.8 million.</blockquote>
Kamambo said the ZIFA board also approved that a total of $2.925 million should be paid to referees while $6.5 million has been allocated to other expenses such as medical equipment.

ZIFA To Give US$5 000 To Each PSL Club

The police have reportedly started to investigate alleged electoral fraud cases at the country&#8217;s football governing body during the 2018 elections that ushered in the Felton Kamambo led board, Sunday news reports.
ZRP has already started interviewing councillors who were witnesses in the elections as there are allegations that some of them reportedly received bribes to vote for certain candidates.
The development was revealed by ZRP National Spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi who said Philip Chiyangwa and Felton Kamambo and their teams both reported each other to the police:
<blockquote>There are several Zifa cases that have been reported to the police by Philip Chiyangwa and Kamambo and his team. Our Commercial Crimes Unit is carrying out the investigations, the courts have directed the police to interview some councillors as part of the investigative process.
Some have interviewed, some are yet to be interviewed. It is only after the interviews that they will be a determination on which ones are witnesses and which ones are not. It is better to wait for our Commercial Crimes Union to conclude investigations.</blockquote>
According to the publication, 32 councillors are part of the investigations.

ZRP Investigating ZIFA Electoral Fraud - Report

ZIFA Councillors are reportedly pushing ZIFA President Felton Kamambo to sternly reprimand one of his executive members who is reportedly trying to capture the association and is reportedly behind the Gift Banda case dragging on while they reportedly know the Vice President is not guilty of the charges levelled against him, the Chronicle reports.
The councillors are reportedly saying the Gift Banda ZIFA issue is shinning a bad light on the association and they blame that committee member who they want Kamambo to read the riot act to.
One of the councillors who spoke to the publication on condition of anonymity said;
<blockquote>Look, everyone now sees who the snake within the executive committee is. This man is power hungry and corrupt. He has a certain group of councillors who will kill for him and are doing everything possible to ascertain their grip, especially as we move closer to the 2022 elections where together with another of his blue-eyed guys are eyeing the Zifa presidency and vice-presidency.
Kamambo must just read the riot act to this guy and let him know who the boss is. His failure to do so will be a monumental mistake</blockquote>
Another councillor also said:
<blockquote>The president must know that he is the boss. In fact, we wonder why he seems to be afraid of certain decisions or maybe he is already captured and therefore not his own man. People voted for him in 2018 and he therefore must not disappoint.
Some people within his executive are already in campaign mode and the more the name of the association is dragged into the mud, the more his (Kamambo) image also gets dirty yet he won’t be responsible for that.
We are aware that he is not happy with what is happening to Banda and has said it that he has no problems working with him, but words without action mean nothing.
We have no tangible proof now, but we hear that the arrangement with the creditors was to be paid at an agreed rate of 1:40 when the official rate was 1:25, but allegations are that the money was being changed at 1:55 or even more and your guess as to where the difference was going is as good as mine. We, however, pray and hope these allegations are not true</blockquote>
The Gift Banda hearing is before the appeals committee and it was postponed for the ZIFA lawyer to prepare a response after Banda&#8217;s lawyer made their submissions.

Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) president Felton Kamambo said the association has commenced clearing the legacy debt with its creditors and has already paid over ZWL$7.5 million.
Kamambo made the comments while addressing reporters following a board meeting in Harare on Saturday. He said:
<blockquote>On the legacy debt, I’m sure you are aware that we are paying our creditors. We made a decision as the emergency committee to say whoever had an agreement with us, we are then going to pay and that’s what we are doing.
We have paid more than $7,5 million, and from where we are coming from it’s quite a long way. We are left with just a few, we have given ourselves a target and our deadline was yesterday (Friday) to submit the paper to Fifa so we are going to do it this week.
You are aware that it’s more of a project than anything else and the board made a decision to pay now then get a refund from Fifa.</blockquote>
Kamambo added that he is enjoying life at ZIFA and football-wise, results will speak for themselves. He said:
<blockquote>Life has never been this good at Zifa, we are enjoying our life and I’m sure football will do the talking.
We want to change the image of Zifa so that everyone will want to be associated with Zifa.
Even the previous presidents who failed to pay themselves, we have actually paid them now.</blockquote>

Kamambo: Life Has Never Been This Good At ZIFA

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) board has resolved to assist financially-troubled Premier Soccer League (PSL) teams and cushion them from the effects of the coronavirus-induced lockdown.
Speaking following a board meeting in Harare on Saturday, ZIFA president Felton Kamambo said they had decided to bail out local clubs. He said:
<blockquote>PSL said they are facing challenges in as far as the running of clubs are concerned and the board provisionally agreed to assist.
We will come back to them on June 20, the secretariat will work on a paper on how we are going to assist them.
PSL boss (Farai Jere) gave a detailed account of how our teams are struggling and the board made a decision to assist.</blockquote>
ZIFA has been under increasing pressure to offer financial support to PSL clubs whose finances have been hit hard after the start of the 2020 season was postponed because of the COVID-19 lockdown.
ZIFA recently got US$700 000 from FIFA and a further US$200 000 from CAF which should all be used as a stimulus to help football activities during the pandemic.

ZIFA To Bailout PSL Clubs

Parliamentarians have advised Sports Minister, Kirsty Coventry to dissolve the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) board saying that it has so far failed to effectively execute its duties and responsibilities.
ZANU PF, MDC and independent legislators agreed that the dissolution of the board was in the best interest of the country.
They added that they were aware of sanctions including the banning of Zimbabwe from football tournaments and it would be better to be banned for interference than to leave the board to mismanage the country&#8217;s resources.
Norton legislator (independent) Temba Mliswa said that the popular move Coventry should do was to disband all the sports associations in the country and come up with a proper sports development plan. He added:
<blockquote>It is a shame that Parliament is allowing people who loot national resources to remain in office. Who cares about being banned in the country at present?</blockquote>
The Felton Kamambo-led ZIFA is being accused of failing to account for funds they received leaving the association bankrupt.
The call for the dissolution of the ZIFA board comes as the Confederation of African Football recently banned Zimbabwe from using local stadia for international tournaments saying that they were sub standard.

"Chiyangwa Was Better," - Legislators Call For The Dissolution Of ZIFA

Newly-appointed Warriors coach Zdravko “Loga’’ Logarusic, has reportedly sacked <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Joey_Antipas" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Joey Antipas</a> from his role as an assistant coach.
Loga told <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zimbabwe_Football_Association_(ZIFA)" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA)</a> leadership that he was not comfortable working with the Chicken Inn coach. The Herald quotes its source as saying:
<blockquote>Soon after yesterday’s press conference, coach Loga told the ZIFA leadership that he is not comfortable working with Antipas.
It came as a surprise to us all, we do not know his reservations about Antipas. Antipas was appointed caretaker Warriors coach soon after the departure of Sunday Chidzambga following an unsuccessful Africa Cup of Nations campaign.
During his tenure, Antipas led the Warriors to the group stages of the 2022 World Cup qualifying phase.

Zimbabwean journalist, Hope Chizuzu has said that ZIFA president Felton Kamambo has been arrested. Posting on Facebook, Chizuzu said:

ZIFA Boss, Felton Kamambo Humiliated At COSAFA AGM

<blockquote>The Zimbabwe Football Association has learnt with dismay falsehoods being circulated by one discredited social media blogger alleging that our president Felton Kamambo is on the run or has been detained by the police CCU.

with regards to the bribery allegations.
While we confirm that a separate police department has indicated a willingness to re-interview Mr Kamambo on alleged bribery allegations reported by Mr Chiyangwa who lost the Zifa elections to the incumbent, we also would like the public to know that indeed Mr Kamambo had previously been investigated and cleared on the same election bribery charges.
ZIFA would like to allay any fears that football will be in a limbo as a result of these issues and believes that in the fullness of time all shall be laid bare.
A lot is happening in our football and authorities have been alerted; we believe that soon those who are conniving with known football criminals shall soon be exposed and convicted accordingly.
We believe in the rule of law and we know the long arm of the law will soon catch up with the rogue clique where ever they are and whatever position they hold. Meanwhile, we promise to live to our promise to let football do the talking in 2020.
We urge the nation to rally behind our under 20 mighty Warriors who are doing duty in Malawi.

ZIFA Dismisses Reports That President Kamambo Is On The Run {Full Text}

Former Sports Journalist Hope Chizuzu has written to the president to cut<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Felton_Kamambo"> Felton Kamambo</a> and his <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zimbabwe_Football_Association_(ZIFA)">ZIFA</a> team loose as they have contributed to the destruction of the country’s much-loved game.
Writing on Facebook Chizuzu penned this open letter to the president and took the time to ask why the SRC has remained mum when ZIFA was slowly leading the country’s football to the grave:
<blockquote>My letter to you Mr President is driven by the cry to you to help football, which is a religion to millions in this country and billions to the outside world. In fact in Brazil it determines who becomes the republican President.
What has been happening in our football can not be ignored a minute longer. I know you do follow the events and that you are not enchanted by what is happening, is an open secret.
But this letter from me is specific. Zimbabwean football at the moment is tottering on the brink with corruption the basal cushion. I know how much you loathe that cancer of corruption, yet we have watched nothing has been done to Failton Kamambo and his crew at 53 Livingstone Avenue.
They have been in office since December 16, 2018 but the report card has been so dirty that they have already been hauled before a parliamentary portfolio Committee on Sport, Art and Recreation to answer to some charges.
Not much has established from that September visit because Zifa has not complied with requests from the Hon Matthias Tongofa chaired Committee. I have heard they maybe called again in the new year.
But Mr President why have there been no commitment to deal with this matter from the SRC, who have statutory authority to handle such miscreants?
You appointed a new board headed by a committed lawyer and officer of the court, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Gerald_Mlotshwa">Gerald Mlotshwa</a> and the SRC Act is armed to the teeth with instruments of action especially Section 30.
Why have we not seen the use of Section 30 on Zifa and save you all this trouble? Who is being protected here Mr President and why? What hold has he on the entire establishment that they can abuse USD740 270 in obvious financial debauchery and nothing happens?
Yes, Mr President that money was from FIFA but once it gets deposited into an Ecobank account in Borrowdale it becomes our money and its transactionary activities is guided by the Banking Act, which is not a FIFA act. So, why can Phelimon Machana, the de facto Zifa president transfer that money from a Zifa account into his company account, Conduit investments ( a real conduit of pillage) without following due process?
Creditors are pilling up and they include former Warriors coaches such as <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Sunday_Chidzambwa">Sunday Chidzambwa</a>,<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Rahman_Gumbo"> Rahman Gumbo</a>, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Norman_Mapeza">Norman Mapeza</a>, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Madinda_Ndlovu">Madinda Ndlovu</a>, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Callisto_Pasuwa">Calisto Pasuwa</a> but Machana instead decides to pay former CEO <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Jonathan_Mashingaidze">Jonathan Mashingaidze</a>, whom we all know is the architect of all this football madness. Meanwhile Travel Genius was defrauded of USD56K for Cosafa women tickets by the same Zifa with Mashingaidze at the hub of the scheme.

Former ZANU PF politburo member, Temba Mliswa who is the current legislator for Norton (independent) has said that ZIFA president and his deputy will not overcome Philip Chiyangwa.
Mliswa speaks when the current ZIFA management led by Felton Kamambo and Phillip Machana has several pending cases in which they accuse Chiyangwa who is the former ZIFA president and current COSAFA president, of abusing his office during his tenure.
He also speaks when Chiyangwa is reportedly hosting the UEFA president, Aleksander Ceferin who has arrived in the country for a ten-day private visit. Mliswa posted on Twitter saying:

Kamambo revealed that the Warriors job is open to both local and foreign coaches from January 2020. He said:
<blockquote>We have said that Antipas is our interim coach until December 31st. On the first of January, we should have a substantive coach.
Anyone is free to apply. It can be a local coach or a foreign coach. It can be Antipas because, from my personal point of view, he is there already and he has an advantage compared to the other candidates.</blockquote>

ZIFA spokesperson Xolisani Gwesela told ZTN that the Technical Development Committee will decide on the way forward when Antipas&#8217;s contract expires at the end of the year. Said Gwesela:
<blockquote>The current technical team headed by Antipas was appointed on an interim basis until December 31. Beyond that, the Zifa Executive council will decide on the way forward.

ZIFA Prepared To Offer Antipas New Contract - Report

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has dismissed claims that it has banned several players from the national team set-up for leading protests in Egypt during the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations finals.
There were reports of unrest within the Warriors camp over the issue of players&#8217; allowances throughout the unsuccessful campaign.
Following the resignation of Sunday Chidzambga as Warriors coach and the sacking of his two assistants, Rahman Gumbo and Lloyd Mutasa, interim coach, Joey Antipas, was reportedly instructed by ZIFA to drop several players from the World Cup Qualifier against Somalia.
However, ZIFA president Felton Kamambo told reporters on Thursday that no player was banned from The Warriors. He said:
<blockquote>There is no player who was banned, the coach is free to select any player he wants to.
If you remember there are players like Khama (Billiat), Ovidy (Karuru) who were not part of the first leg but were called up for the second leg.</blockquote>

ZIFA: No Warriors Have Been Banned

The Sports and Recreation Commission has reportedly engaged the Zimbabwe Republic Police to investigate ZIFA over alleged misappropriation of funds, The Chronicle reports. The matter came to light after the SRC Director general wrote to the ZRP to seek assistance in compelling ZIFA to hand over the information SRC requested from ZIFA in July.
The Director-General wrote:
<blockquote>As indicated in our letter to yourselves, dated 10 July 2019, we now wish to formally request the urgent assistance of the Zimbabwe Republic Police to carry out investigations at Zifa, and any related third parties, in respect of conduct of a criminal nature involving public funds availed to Zifa by the SRC and Government. In particular, we wish that the investigations focus on the following matters of grave concern to the SRC as set out in the letter of July 3.
Key to this issue is the use of public funds received by Zifa and, or, any of its officials as well as involvement of a company called Conduit Holdings in appearing to obstruct the course of justice by frustrating the Order of the High Court of Zimbabwe.The SRC stands by to assist should you require further information</blockquote>
A source at ZIFA, however, claimed that ZIFA, when it transferred money to the company in question Conduit Holdings, was acting on the advice of FIFA. SAid the source to the Chronicle:

SRC Engage ZRP To Investigate ZIFA Over Alleged Misappropriation Of Public Funds

ZIFA President, Felton Kamambo has assured the nation that despite reports coming out, the nation&#8217;s football was in good hands.
Giving a keynote address at the FIFA Member Association Elite Referees Course in Bulawayo, Kamambo said:
<blockquote>I want to assure you that your football is in safe hands regardless of the reports that are coming out.  Your football is in safe hands.
No matter what they say or pretend we are doing, we will remain transparent. I think they have done everything that they have done, we have been accused of abuse of funds but I am sure FIFA came and they verified our books. Not even a single cent was abused. Not even a single receipt was missing, so guys I assure you that your football is in safe hands and we will take football where we want to take it.</blockquote>
His remarks come at a time when the nation has expressed reservations in the way the sport is being managed by Kamambo&#8217;s administration.
The football governing board is accused of mishandling funds and failing to adequately and promptly pay players.
Recently, the <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2019/09/03/zifa-bank-account-has-been-frozen/">High Court froze ZIFA&#8217;s bank account</a> after the debt-ridden ZIFA defied a High Court order to deposit USD518 331,18 owed to its Director of Administration Lazarus Mhurushomana by Monday last week.
ZIFA which often complains of limited fiscal space is as a beneficiary of FIFA’s yearly US$1 million financial assistance starting May last year.

"Your Football Is In Safe Hands," ZIFA President Assures The Nation

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) president, Felton Kamambo, said that he has already achieved several successes since coming into office.
Speaking during an interview with Sunday Mail Sports Reporter Langton Kwenda, Kamambo refuted claims that he has failed dismally, instead outlining what he considers to his successes. He said:
<blockquote>Within six months, we have managed to get a kit sponsorship deal for all our teams. We are now wearing Umbro and our teams are smartly dressed.
We have convinced Fifa and they have agreed to help liquidate our legacy debt, yet previous boards failed to deal with this monster.
There is money at Fifa for projects that we did not use but if we take that money, it will be swallowed by creditors.
So we made a decision that Fifa uses that to clear our debts. Who knows, maybe by end of this year we would have paid the whole $8 million debt. To me, that’s an achievement.
At the same time, Fifa has also agreed to sponsor the objectives that we have set.
We will soon be building our headquarters, a hotel, a resort centre, and two offices for the Eastern and Central Regions.
We have also moved back to 53 Livingstone Avenue, away from those rented offices where we used to pay about $10 000 per month.</blockquote>
