Musician Hope Masike recounted an encounter with sugar daddies and also encouraged younger women to get a licence as early as 16.
On her website Masike wrote:
<blockquote>… my first experience with a sugar-daddy (the female musician hunting type) was in those very early days. Guess what his point of entry was?…offering us a ride home! Girls, get a driver’s licence at 16 during your O Level holidays and empower yourselves against this type of vulture…</blockquote>
In an interview with Zimbojam, Masike said she never dated sugar daddies but was approached by some and if she did not mind being in a polygamus marriage she would  have been a small house or someone’s second wife.
