The Meteorological Services Department (MSD) has forecasted moderate rains across southern Zimbabwe from this Monday up to Wednesday.
The MSD said although the volume of rain could be low, it could be enough to sustain some crops.
This comes as farmers across the country who planted their fields last month with the early rains have expressed grave concern over the prolonged dry spell.
The bulk of crops planted early have begun showing signs of wilting due to persistent high temperatures and no rain.
MSD agro-meteorologist Benjamin Kwenda on Sunday said apart from this week, some rains were expected from 12 December, with significant falls expected in some places. Said Kwenda:

We are still on course on the normal to above normal rainfall that was forecasted for October to December.
At the end of December, we will do an analysis and we will be able to tell whether it will be normal to above normal.

PREAMBLE
Thunderstorms occurred over parts of Matabeleland North, Harare Metropolitan, northern areas of the Midlands and all Mashonaland Provinces yesterday, the rainfall was generally light except for areas such as Myurwi (23 mm), Makuti (19 mm) and Murehwa (11 mm).
Meanwhile, the southern and eastern parts of the country, namely Manicaland, Masvingo, southern areas of the Midlands, Matabeleland South into Bulawayo Metropolitan, were mostly cloudy, windy and cold with patchy drizzle.
These cloudy conditions had spread further inland by this morning.
FORECAST
However, TOMORROW MONDAY 03 MAY 2021, the strong winds should begin to subside, with cloudy and cold morning conditions over much of Manicaland Province into Masvingo Province becoming mild by afternoon, amid more sunny breaks.

Zimbabwe Weather Report And Forecast – 02 May To 04 May 2021

Sunday Makore (47) of Sizinda suburb in Bulawayo and three accomplices allegedly stormed a Meteorological Services Department (MSD) office and stole a generator before fleeing in a getaway car on 16 March this year.
Makore and his three accomplices who are all still at large, reportedly struck at Goetz Observatory in Khumalo suburb travelling in unregistered Toyota Runx on 16 March at around 8 PM.
Prosecuting, Ashley Dube said Makore dropped from the motor vehicle and he walked straight to the generator room.
Two of the suspects and Makore allegedly took a Kipor Diesel Operator, loaded it into the car and the gang drove away at high speed.
Makore last Friday pleaded not guilty to one count of theft when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Rachel Mukanga.
Mukanga granted him $10 000 bail and he will be back in court on 5 May. The State did not oppose bail.
Meanwhile, the total value of the generator is $102 000 and nothing was recovered.

TOMORROW MONDAY 29 MARCH 2021: It should be cloudy, windy and cold over Matabeleland South, Bulawayo Metropolitan, southern parts of Midlands, Masvingo and Manicaland province with a chance of morning drizzle in places.

ZIMBABWE EVENING WEATHER REPORT AND FORECAST ISSUED AT 1600 HRS ON WEDNESDAY 24 MARCH 2021 VALID UNTIL FRIDAY 26 MARCH 2021.
PREAMBLE
Rain and drizzle permeated areas along and to the south of the main watershed [namely Matabeleland South, southern areas of the Midlands (from Gweru southward through to Zvishavane), southern areas of Mashonaland East (Marondera to Chivhu), Masvingo and Manicaland Provinces yesterday.
On the other hand, provinces such as Matabeleland North, Mashonaland West, Mashonaland Central, northern districts of Mashonaland East, northern areas of the Midlands, Harare and Bulawayo Metropolitan had thunderstorms, with the heaviest falls over Karoi and Marondera (both measuring 22 mm) while Chisengu had 20 mm. All other areas had less than 15 mm.
However, a cloud-band encroaching into the western parts of Zimbabwe should change this outlook.
FORECAST
FORECAST FOR TOMORROW THURSDAY 25 MARCH 2021: 
Matabeleland South, southern districts of Matabeleland North, Bulawayo Metropolitan into parts of the Midlands is expected to be mostly sunny and mild at first becoming warm and progressively cloudy by afternoon, with thunderstorms in places.
Harare Metropolitan and all Mashonaland Provinces should be cloudy and mild at first with morning rain being probable, becoming much warmer by afternoon with more sunshine.
The rest of the country (namely Manicaland and Masvingo Provinces) should be mostly sunny and warm by day becoming mild towards evening.

PREAMBLE
Pressure rise along the Southeast coast of South Africa drove in cool, moist south easterlies which resulted in rain and drizzle yesterday along and to the south of the main watershed with rainfall figures of 79mm at Zaka and 13mm at Masvingo.
The rest of the areas were warm and humid with isolated thundershowers to the northern provinces with only Mvurwi and Karoi received significant falls of 19mm and 17mm respectively.
Meanwhile, it will start to become relatively drier over the southern provinces as the ridge of high pressure weakens.

FORECAST FOR TOMORROW WEDNESDAY 24 MARCH 2021: Matabeleland South, Masvingo, Bulawayo Metropolitan, Manicaland and southern districts of Mashonaland East should be cloudy and mild at first, becoming much warmer by afternoon with more sunny breaks.

ZIMBABWE EVENING WEATHER REPORT AND FORECAST ISSUED AT 1600 HRS ON SUNDAY 21 MARCH 2021 VALID UNTIL MONDAY 22 MARCH 2021.
PREAMBLE
The moisture field of the weak cloud affecting the western parts of the country caused isolated thunderstorms over Matabeleland North with 18 mm in Lupane being the only notable rainfall figure recorded this morning.
However, moist winds have begun to strengthen over the south-east coast of Southern Africa. 
As if to celebrate International Day of Forests, these winds are being steered into the country through Gonarezhou National Park (more than 5’000 km2 of Savannah thriving with wildlife).
FORECAST
FORECAST FOR TOMORROW MONDAY 22 MARCH 2021: Matabeleland South, Masvingo, and Manicaland provinces should be windy with cloudy conditions over Beitbridge, Mwenezi, Chiredzi and Chipinge from early morning.
These cloudy conditions should spread into other parts of these provinces towards noon with light showers in places.
Isolated thunderstorms are expected over Matabeleland North, into Mashonaland West, Central and Harare Metropolitan. Mild at first becoming warm by afternoon with brief cloudy periods.

MSD Weather Report And Forecast – 18 March To 20 March 2021

The Meteorological Services Department (MSD) last night issued a weather report and forecast that is valid until Thursday 18 March 2021.  MSD observed that from today, Wednesday until Thursday, lightning is still probable and it urged members of the public to take precautionary measures such as staying indoors. The forecast is as follows.
Fringes of a cloud system, currently over Botswana, yet affecting the south-western border areas of Zimbabwe, resulted in isolated thunderstorm in districts such as Bulllima, Mangwe, Tsholotsho, and Hwange. The Mashonaland Provinces, Harare Metropolitan and parts of Manicaland Province remained under influence of the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone. with pockets of moisture resulting in brief cloudy periods and isolated showers. These showers. though generally light (below 10 mm), were coupled with thunder and lightning in places.
FORECAST WEDNESDAY 17 MARCH 2021:
Isolated light showers are expected over Matabeleland North. Matabeleland South, northern parts of Midlands, Harare Metropolitan. Manicaland and all Mashonaland Provinces. These may be coupled with lightning and thunder. It will be mild in the morning, becoming warns by afternoon with brief cloudy periods. Mostly sunny and warm conditions are expected in southern areas of Midlands, Bulawayo Metropolitan. and Masvingo Provinces, becoming mild towards evening.

Mostly sunny and mild at first over much of the country. However. from mid-morning brief cloudy periods and isolated afternoon thunder showers are expected in the northern parts of all three provinces of Matabeleland North, Midlands and Mashonaland West. The rest of the country (namely Matabeleland South, Bulawayo Metropolitan, southern areas of the Midlands, Masvingo, Manicaland, Harare Metropolitan, Mashonaland Central and Mashonaland East Provinces) should be most sunny and warm by afternoon.

ZIMBABWE EVENING WEATHER REPORT AND FORECAST ISSUED AT 1600 HRS ON FRIDAY 12 MARCH 2021 VALID UNTIL SUNDAY 14 MARCH 2021.
PREAMBLE
Cool morning conditions prevailed across much of the country. While intermezzi cloudy periods and warm conditions were observed in areas to the north of the main watershed, the southern and eastern namely Bulawayo Metropolitan, Matabeleland South, southern areas of Midlands, Masvingo and southern districts of Manicaland provinces were cool, breezy and cloudy. This is due to the slight pressure surge over the coast of South Africa.
FORECAST
Accordingly, TOMORROW SATURDAY 13 MARCH 2021: Masvingo and Manicaland provinces should have cloudy periods, and thus starting off cool, becoming warm by afternoon.
Harare Metropolitan and all Mashonaland provinces should be mostly cloudy and warm with isolated afternoon and evening thunderstorms.
The rest of the country (Midlands, Matabeleland South, Bulawayo Metropolitan, and Matabeleland North provinces) should expect brief scattered clouds, plenty of sunshine and warmer conditions.

Mostly sunny and warm conditions were experienced over provinces such as Masvingo, Matabeleland South and Matabeleland north with scattered clouds and thundershowers over Harare Metropolitan, Midlands as well as all Mashonaland provinces. The only significant rainfall recorded was 30mm ( Mvurwi).
FORECAST
TOMORROW FRIDAY 05 MARCH 2021: All Mashonaland Provinces and Harare Metropolitan Province should be mostly cloudy and warm with a chance of isolated afternoon thundershowers. The rest of the provinces should be mostly sunny and hot though mild in the morning.

ZIMBABWE EVENING WEATHER REPORT AND FORECAST ISSUED AT 1600 HRS ON SUNDAY 28 FEBRUARY 2021 VALID UNTIL TUESDAY 02 MARCH 2021
PREAMBLE
The relatively cool south-easterly breeze has stabilized much of the atmosphere with the only thunderstorms being over the northern parts of Mashonaland West into Mashonaland Central, where Kanyemba measured 92 mm.
The rest of the country had mostly continuous rain, with substantial falls in places such as Sanyati (66 mm), Kwekwe (55 mm), Chakari (39 mm), Mukandi (38 mm), Chinhoyi (35 mm) and Gokwe (32 mm).
FORECAST
While cloudy, breezy and mild conditions are expected TOMORROW MONDAY 01 MARCH 2021; the first day of the new month begins with light rains which should ease off toward evening.
A few sunny breaks are probable especially over Matabeleland South and Bulawayo Metropolitan Provinces.
IMPACTS

<li>Flooded rivers remain a potential hazard; even if it has not rained heavily in the area, heavy rains may have occurred upstream.</li>

MSD Weather Forecast - 28 Feb. To 02 March 2021 {Full Statement}

The <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Meteorological_Services_Department">Meteorological Services (Met) Department</a> has given an update on <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2021/02/21/mozambique-hit-by-another-cyclone-cyclone-gaumbe/">Tropical Storm Guambe</a> which is said to have induced a warm and humid north-westerly airflow across the country.
The Met Department further reports that the highest falls were over Matebeleland North areas such as Binga and Victoria Falls.
As for Monday, the Southern parts of the country: Masvingo, Manicaland, and Midlands are expected to be cloudy with scattered thunderstorms.
Matabeleland North, Northern parts of Midlands, Bulawayo and Harare metropolitan, as well as all Mashonaland provinces, are expected to have brief cloudy periods with isolated afternoon and evening thunderstorms.
Lightning and destructive winds are also expected.

Met Department Update On Tropical Storm Guambe

The Meteorological Services Department has forecasted that the Northern parts of the country will have thunderstorms while the Southern parts will be sunny.

Expect Sunny Weather, Thunderstorms - Met Department

The Meteorological Services (MET) Department’s weather forecast predicts heavy downpours and thunderstorms in some parts of the country starting this Tuesday. Below is the MET’s statement.

Numerous thunderstorms occurred yesterday and the following were some of the higher rainfalls measured at our Meteorological Stations:
Tarisa Park (Ruwa) 47mm, 
Victoria Falls 37mm, Beitbridge. 32mm, Mutoko 22mm Bindura University 21mm.
Meantime the atmosphere remains moist and unstable therefore;
FORECAST FOR TOMORROW TUESDAY 26 JANUARY 2021:
We are expecting cloudy and warm conditions in all areas with occasional rain and outbreaks of thunderstorms during the day. Some of these storms may bring localized heavy downpours especially along the central watershed, and the Zambezi Valley.
Damaging winds may also be associated with these storms.
WEATHER FORECAST FOR WEDNESDAY 27 JANUARY 2021
It should be mostly cloudy across the country, with scattered thunderstorms and rain.
Localized heavy downpours are expected in Manicaland, and Mashonaland east province.
