ZANU PF President and First Secretary Emmerson Mnangagwa has demoted Mike Bimha from the position of party Political Commissar to an ordinary member of the Politburo.
In a statement issued on Monday evening, ZANU PF Secretary General, Obert Mpofu, also announced several other reassignments in the Politburo.
He said Jacob Mudenda, the Speaker of the National Assembly, has been re-assigned to be the Party’s Treasurer General, taking over from Patrick Chinamasa, who is now ZANU PF’s Secretary for Legal Affairs.
Munyaradzi Machacha, who was the Principal of the Chitepo School of Ideology, has replaced Bimha as the ZANU PF Political Commissar. Reads the statement:

His Excellency, the President and First Secretary of the Party Cde Dr ED Mnangagwa has made the following re-assignments to the revolutionary ruling Party’s Politburo portfolios with immediate effect:
1. Cde Adv J.F. Mudenda has been re-assigned to be the Party’s Treasurer General. He was formerly the Party’s Secretary for Legal Affairs.
2. Cde M. Machacha has been re-assigned to be the Party’s Secretary for Commissariat. He was formerly the Revolutionary Party’s Principal of the Chitepo School of Ideology.

Mnangagwa Fires ZANU PF Political Commissar

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has reversed the appointment of General Phillip Valerio Sibanda, the commander of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, as an ex officio member of the ruling ZANU PF’s politburo. The politburo is an important decision-making body within the party. In a statement, Deputy Chief Secretary, of Presidential Communications, George Charamba said:

His Excellency the President, Dr E.D. Mnangagwa, has announced the staying of General PV Sibanda’s appointment to the ruling Zanu PF Party Politburo as an ex-officio member. The position will be reviewed at the expiry of General Sibanda’s term as a senior serving officer at the helm of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, ZDF. This deferment of the appointment resolves the apparent conflict with the country’s Constitution which regulates the conduct of serving members of the Security Services.

The appointment of General Phillip Valerio Sibanda as a member of the ruling ZANU PF’s politburo was seen as unconstitutional. Fadzayi Mahere, a Member of Parliament and lawyer, stated that this appointment went against the law and was a clear violation. According to Section 208 of the Constitution, members of the security services are not allowed to hold any position in a political party, whether it’s ex-officio or not. 
There are others who were defending the appointment saying it did not violate the constitution. According to former University of Zimbabwe Political Science lecturer Jonathan Moyo, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/2023/11/01/cdf-general-sibandas-zanu-pf-politburo-appointment-not-unlawful-says-jonathan-moyo/">the appointment was not unconstitutional.</a> He argued that there was nothing in the Constitution that prohibits members of the security services from being members of a political party or organisation. He said Section 208 of the Constitution states that members of the security services must not act in a partisan manner or further the interests of any political party, but it does not explicitly forbid membership in a political party. Moyo believes that General Sibanda’s appointment does not violate the Constitution. 
Before past elections, the military was accused of intimidating and pressuring villagers to vote for the ZANU PF political party.
President Mnangagwa’s reversal of the appointment came after a lawyer from Harare named Kudzai Kadzere gave the president a warning that he would take legal action against him for violating the constitution if he didn’t reverse the appointment within 10 days.

President Mnangagwa Reverses The Appointment Of General Valerio Sibanda To ZANU PF Politburo

ZANU PF has said only the Constitutional Court can declare the appointment of the commander of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) General Phillip Valerio Sibanda to the ZANU PF politburo unconstitutional.
On 28 October 2023, during the ZANU PF annual conference in Gweru, President Emmerson Mnangagwa named General Sibanda as an ex officio member of the Politburo.
The appointment was criticised by lawyers and the opposition who said the Zimbabwe Constitution prohibits security service members from being active in political parties/organisations.
However, speaking to <a href="https://www.zimlive.com/got-to-court-zanu-pf-tells-critics-of-general-sibandas-politburo-appointment/">ZimLive</a>, ZANU PF’s director of information and publicity Farai Marapira said that those who are criticising General Sibanda’s appointment to the Politburo are “misguided” and “loose cannons”. He said:

Firstly, it is saddening that for a people in a democracy, we still fail to appreciate and respect the fact that only courts of law have the right to speak with finality on matters constitutional and legal.
The Constitutional Court is clearly created and alive for such matters. Anyone else claiming the right to speak as an authority or with finality is clearly misguided and a loose cannon.
We, unfortunately, have personalities in our body politic who are prone to having engorged views of themselves and their opinions.
Last Saturday’s announcement of General Sibanda as an ex officio member of the politburo is wrong in the eyes of a few who may consider themselves learned when they are not.
Limiting interpretation of the appointment to one’s understanding of section 208 of the constitution of Zimbabwe alone is the result that has led to, in my view, a misguided take on matters.
Section 67 of the Constitution, which is sacrosanct, says every Zimbabwean citizen has the right to make political choices freely.
Let it be noted that Section 208 does not also prevent political choice but encourages members of the forces to not make partisan decisions in the execution of their duties.

Critics are adamant Mnangagwa breached his oath to uphold the Constitution by appointing Sibanda to the ZANU PF Politburo.
Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) spokesman Promise Mkwananzi said:
<blockquote>
ZANU PF cannot keep breaking the law only to tell us to go to court. They must observe the law. The appointment is both unlawful and politically problematic. The general must step down if he chooses to be a politician.
</blockquote>
Lawyer Thabani Mpofu argued that it was unconstitutional for General Sibanda to take up office in the ZANU PF Politburo. He added:

That does not require any debate, not even a dishonest one. Can you imagine the general taking up a post in the CCC? Not only is this disturbingly inappropriate, it is also vulgar.
If for instance, we were to take the decision to agitate, to carry out nationwide protests, to be civilly disobedient; how is General Sibanda going to respond to us?
Will he respond as a Commander of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces or as a member of the lootocracy that ZANU PF is?

MDC-T leader Douglas Mwonzora, who is also a lawyer, said:

The appointment of the Commander of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces General Sibanda into the Politburo of ZANU PF is totally wrong.
It marks a serious desecration of our constitution. It signals a serious and unacceptable conflation of the State, Army, and Party.

Critics Of General Sibanda’s Politburo Appointment Are Misguided - ZANU PF

The opposition Zimbabwe African People’s Union (ZAPU) party said that the Commander of Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF), General Phillip Valerio Sibanda should reject his recent appointment into the ZANU PF Politburo by President Emmerson Mnangagwa if he still has a ZAPU conscience, reported <a href="https://www.newzimbabwe.com/zapu-trashes-former-zipra-commander-valerio-sibanda-says-he-is-now-part-of-zanu-pf-cult-and-should-reject-politburo-appointment/">NewZimbabwe.com</a>.
Sibanda was a member of ZAPU’s military wing, the Zimbabwe People’s Revolutionary Army (ZPRA) during the War of Independence.
On Saturday, 28 October, Mnangagwa announced Sibanda as an ex-officio member of ZANU PF’s Politburo.
Opposition political parties including ZAPU and the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) have said the appointment is unconstitutional and goes against Section 208 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe which bars serving members of the security services from being active members or office bearers of political parties.
Responding to followers on X, formerly Twitter, ZAPU said Sibanda should reject the appointment saying by joining the ZANU PF Politburo, he has become a member of the cult. It said:

If he still has any ZAPU conscience in him, he would reject it. But anyone who has enjoyed the poisoned chalice for so many years would definitely not do so. He is now part of the cult, and history will judge him harshly!

Some former ZAPU members who were led by the late former Home Affairs Minister Dumiso Dabengwa left ZANU PF in 2011 to revive the party.
However, the majority maintained their allegiance to ZANU PF saying they respected the 1987 Unity Accord.

ZAPU Says Army Commander Should Reject ZANU PF Politburo Appointment

Zimbabwe’s main opposition party, the Citizens Coalition of Change (CCC) has strongly condemned President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/2023/10/28/army-commander-named-zanu-pf-politburo-ex-officio-member/">appointment</a> of General <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Philip_Valerio_Sibanda/">Philip Valerio Sibanda</a> to the <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zanu-PF_Politiburo/">ZANU PF Politburo</a>. Mnangagwa announced on Saturday, 28 October at the ZANU PF 20th National People’s Conference at the ZANU PF Conventional Centre in Gweru, Midlands that Sibanda, the Commander of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) was now an ex officio member of the Politburo. The appointment has attracted criticism from several political analysts and lawyers who say the move was unconstitutional. The CCC party said:

The Citizens Coalition of Change strongly condemns Mr Mnangagwa’s announcement of appointing a senior officer of the security forces, Army General Valerio Sibanda to the Zanu PF politburo. The relationship between the army and ZANU PF (Zimbabwe African National Union–Patriotic Front) and ZAPU (Zimbabwe African People’s Union) since pre-independence has been complex and marked by both cooperation and conflict. During the liberation struggle, ZANU PF and ZAPU had their respective military wings, with ZANU PF’s being the Zimbabwe African National Liberation Army (ZANLA) and ZAPU’s being the Zimbabwe People’s Revolutionary Army (ZIPRA).
After independence, ZANU PF gained power and the army became closely aligned with the ruling party, leading to accusations of human rights abuses, particularly during the Gukurahundi massacres in the 1980s. CCC Condemns Mnangagwa's Appointment Of General Valerio Sibanda To The ZANU PF Politburo

Dr <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Walter_Mzembi/">Walter Mzembi</a>, former Tourism Minister of Zimbabwe, has expressed concerns about <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/2023/10/28/army-commander-named-zanu-pf-politburo-ex-officio-member/">the appointment</a> of General <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Philip_Valerio_Sibanda/">Philip Valerio Sibanda</a>, the Commander of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF), as an Ex-officio Politburo member within the ruling party, ZANU PF. The <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zanu-PF_Politiburo/">Politburo</a> is the ZANU’s highest decision-making body. President Emmerson Mnangagwa made the announcement during the ZANU PF 20th National People’s Conference in Gweru. 
“Ex officio” means that someone holds a position automatically or because of their other responsibilities. It grants them certain rights and powers without being appointed or elected specifically for those duties. However, this appointment of Valerio Sibanda, the Commander of Zimbabwe’s Defence Forces, as an ex officio member of the ruling party’s Politburo, is likely illegal and goes against the country’s constitution. The constitution prohibits members of the security services from being active in any political party. This situation reflects the issue of party-state conflation, which hampers the process of democratization in Zimbabwe, as highlighted by political commentators. Mzembi said:

The implications are that much of Cabinet Policies are generated or given direction from the Politburo of Zanu PF as a Ruling Party, and inviting the interest of Securocrats at this policy formulation or generation stage simply reflects an extension of November 2017 power-sharing understanding of Zanu PF and the Military. It is also a consolidation and reset to Liberation War High Command political architecture that steered the liberation struggle. 
The unspoken is the subordination of the Military Factor under Zanu PF, which would be problematic in the future if there is a new generation non military leader. It appears a natural now because in the hierarchy of Zanu PF itself is a former CDF to whom General Sibanda reported but Mnangagwa himself, a Chairman of the Joint Operation Command under Mugabe, former Defense Minister but right from Independence Minister of State Security. 
The precedent though has been of former CDFs joining the Politburo after retirement, as was the case with Generals Mujuru and Zvinavashe which was a cleaner arrangement constitutionally. Sitting inside a Politburo where the fate of Opposition Parties is plotted and decided creates conflict for a CDF no matter how professional he may want to be seen. It’s untidy. It is these boundaries lately that relate to our State design that are being crossed with reckless abandon and disdain, and it should worry any right-thinking Zimbabwean.

Mzembi mentioned that for a professional soldier, especially the Chief of Defense Forces (CDF), the appointment is a difficult and challenging role. General Sibanda is well-regarded by the public, and Mzembi hopes that he will consider declining the appointment and handle it wisely. Mzembi suggests that if General Sibanda accepts the role, he should be involved in all political party hierarchies to ensure fairness. However, it is important to note that the Constitution explicitly states that the CDF cannot be partisan.
Brighton Mutebuka, a Zimbabwean lawyer based in the UK, stated that the appointment of General Philip Valerio Sibanda as an Ex-officio Politburo member is unconstitutional. Mutebuka mentioned that General Sibanda had the option to decline the appointment but chose not to. He said:

This is a straightforward situation. The appointment is unconstitutional. He could have declined it but failed to do so. Many said he was ZAPU &amp; principled but they overlooked that he wasn’t beyond prioritising personal ambition &amp; survival. 
</blockquote>
Mutebuka argued that attempts to convince Sibanda to do the right thing based on his conscience or moral values is pointless and will not succeed. He believes that the situation is becoming more intense. Mutebuka says Zimbabweans should brace themselves for the challenges ahead.

General Valerio Sibanda's Appointment Should Worry Any Right-Thinking Zimbabwean - Mzembi

President Emmerson has announced Zimbabwe Defence Forces commander General Phillip Valerio Sibanda as an ex officio Member of the ZANU PF Politburo.
Mnangagwa made the announcement on Saturday, 28 October at the ZANU PF 20th National People’s Conference at the ZANU PF Conventional Centre in Gweru.
Mnangagwa was giving his closing remarks for the two-day conference which started on Friday. He said:

The amended 2023 Party Constitution gives impetus, urgency and renewed focus to the socio-economic and political realities of our country towards lifting many out of poverty and into prosperity. During the course of the year, we lost one of our Party stalwarts, Cde Joshua Teke Malinga who was the Secretary for People with Disabilities.
To fill the vacancy, I am appointing, Cde Rose Mpofu of Matabeleland South Province as a Politburo Member and the new Secretary for People with Disabilities.
Additionally, “Cde Gwenzi”, General, Phillip Valerio Sibanda, as an Ex Officio Member of the Politburo.

When someone has an ex officio position, they have certain rights, powers, or privileges simply because of the position they hold, rather than being appointed or elected specifically to fulfill those duties.
The appointment is likely illegal and a violation of Zimbabwe’s constitution which says that members of the security services must not be active members or office-bearers of any political party or organisation.
Political commentators have consistently raised the issue of party-state conflation in Zimbabwe which is considered a hindrance to democratisation.

Mnangagwa Appoints ZDF Commander As A ZANU PF Politburo Ex Officio Member

The ZANU PF Politburo on Wednesday confirmed candidates who won in the primary elections re-runs held over the weekend.
Briefing the media after the Politburo meeting, ZANU PF National Political Commissar Mike Bimha revealed that the party had endorsed the victorious candidates after reruns held over the weekend.
Party spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa said the outcomes are testimony that there are no sacred cows in the party when it comes to democracy.
ZANU PF conducted primary elections reruns on Saturday in Churu, Mbare, Zvimba West, and Gokwe Nembudziya.
The winners are as follows: Fundukwa Ephraim (Churu), Matinyanya Martin (Mbare), Mercy Dinha (Zvimba West), and Flora Buka (Gokwe Nembudziya).
The losing candidates are Charles Matsika (Churu), Emmanuel Mahachi (Mbare), Ziyambi Ziyambi (Zvimba West), and Justice Mayor Wadyajena (Gokwe Nembudziya).

ZANU PF Politburo Confirms Primary Elections Reruns Results

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Omega_Hungwe">Omega Sipani Hungwe</a> into the <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zanu-PF_Politiburo">Politburo</a> as a Committee member.
ZANU PF Secretary for Administration <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Obert_Mpofu">Obert Mpofu</a> confirmed the development in a statement issued on Thursday. Reads the statement:

Reference is made to the statement released on December 23, 2022 on the appointments of the Politburo by HE (His Excellency) the President and First Secretary of the party Cde ED Mnangagwa. 
The statement omitted on the list, the name of Cde Omega Hungwe who was appointed into the Politburo as a Committee member.

In November 2017 Hungwe was among the many Zanu PF members censured on allegations of working with <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Emmerson_Mnangagwa" title="Emmerson Mnangagwa">Emmerson Mnangagwa</a> who had been fired from the Party and Government by then-President <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Robert_Mugabe" title="Robert Mugabe">Robert Mugabe</a>. 
Hungwe was also put on the list of those earmarked for dismissal from the Party.
She is a Member of Parliament (MP) for Harare East.

The ZANU PF Politburo is the party’s highest decision-making body outside Congress.
Mnangagwa this Friday announced members of the <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zanu-PF_Politiburo">ZANU PF Politburo</a>, in a development that saw the First Lady <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Auxilia_Mnangagwa">Auxilia Mnangagwa</a> appointed <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/full-list-president-mnangagwa-appoints-first-lady-to-zanu-politburo/">as the Secretary for Tourism and Hospitality. </a>
In a Twitter thread seen by Pindula News, Mliswa, a former ZANU PF legislator said the inclusion of some young people is a positive thing. He said:

Interesting list of new Politburo members. Some have been recycled back&amp; others are vital inclusions as they will provide new impetus. Would have thought <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Jabulani_Sibanda">Jabulani Sibanda</a> would be part of it to manage the politics of southern&amp; northern regions. He is a commissar par excellence.
Great inclusion of Hon Adv <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Jacob_Mudenda">Jacob Mudenda</a> again. He is respected, fair and knows the law. That’s a great appointment as we go towards the elections. Brings a lot of credibility too. He is a stickler for doing things according to procedure. That’s why he is called the Headmaster.
Tino Machakaire as a youth leader is another good move. It may be a bit late but vital all the same. He will turn around the youth wing from the thuggish entity it was becoming under <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Kindness_Paradza">Paradza</a>, Masenda and even Mukupe who was telling people he will be in the PB.
Machakaire is suave&amp; wise to interact with everyone, restoring respect&amp; order. If the likes of Mukupe had come in then the party would have totally lost it. He is the kind that will abuse positions for business. He was telling people that he had lobbied enough to be in the PB!
Now that he isn’t part of it, it’s a sigh of relief for the people of Hurungwe because they would have been abused because of that position. Mwari anzwa minamato yavo. If people gloat over being in the Central Committee, him being in the PB would have been a disaster.

Mliswa Finds Some Positives In President Mnangagwa's Politburo Appointments

ZANU PF’s secretary for administration Obert Mpofu has expressed gratitude to President Emmerson Mnangagwa, who is ZANU PF’s president and first secretary, for reappointing him to the Politburo.
Mnangagwa reappointed Mpofu to his post, as well as national political commissar Mike Bimha, secretary for finance Patrick Chinamasa, and secretary for security Lovemore Matuke.
He also announced Mabel Chinomona as the women’s league leader and Douglas Mahiya as chairman of the war veterans league.
Mpofu wrote an open letter in a State-controlled weekly publication, praising Mnangagwa and also congratulating him for his recent reelection. He said:

Mpofu Praises Mnangagwa Over Politburo Reappointment

President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has appointed ten personal nominees to the Central Committee, one from each province. 
The appointments were made on the last day of the 7th ZANU PF National People’s Congress which was held at the HICC in Harare from the 26th to the 29th of October, 2022.

President Mnangagwa Appoints New Central Committee And Politburo Members

President Emmerson Mnangagwa is set to announce a new politburo which may see some of the current members become ordinary card-carrying members.
Speaking during the last politburo meeting before the 7th ZANU PF National People’s Congress which commenced on Wednesday, 26 October, Mnangagwa revealed that some members will be reassigned. He said:

ZANU PF Politburo Set For Overhaul

Seven ZANU PF Politburo members on Wednesday failed to attend its meeting at the ruling party headquarters in Harare due to ill-health.
In his opening remarks at the meeting, ZANU PF First Secretary, President Emmerson Mnangagwa disclosed that the seven officials had asked for a leave of absence because they were not feeling well. He said:
<blockquote>I have received an apology from comrade Sydney Sekeramayi who is not well, comrade Simbarashe Mumbengegwi who is in quarantine after we had sent him to attend the funeral of former Tanzanian president Benjamin Mkapa, Lovemore Matuke who is not well, Josiah Hungwe who is not too well, Joshua Malinga who is not well, Christopher Mutsvangwa who is not well, Engelbert Rugeje who is not well and Richard Ndlovu, a newly-appointed member of the politburo.</blockquote>
This comes barely a month after ZANU PF politburo member and Lands Minister, Perrance Shiri, succumbed to COVID-19, with 26 party employees having tested positive for the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2).

Seven ZANU PF Politburo Members Fall Sick

Zanu-PF Secretary for Information and Publicity Cde Simon Khaya Moyo has said that the ruling party will convene its Ordinary Session of the Politburo this Wednesday at the party headquarters.
In a statement, Moyo said that all members should be seated by exactly 0945 hours. He said:
<blockquote>The Secretary for Administration Cde Dr Obert Mpofu wishes to advise all members that there shall be a Politburo meeting to be held on Wednesday 13 November 2019 at the Party Headquarters commencing 1000 hours.</blockquote>
The Herald reports that the Politburo is expected to discuss preparations of the party’s National Annual People’s conference to be held in Goromonzi, Mashonaland East, the fate of former Minister of Environment and Tourism Prisca Mupfumira among other issues.
The meeting comes when the country is facing a huge power deficit due to faults at Hwange Power Station. It also comes when the health sector is grounded due to inadequacy of equipment and the situation is exacerbated by the prolonged health caregivers’ strike.

Zanu-PF national spokesperson Simon Khaya Moyo confirmed yesterday that the parrty’s politburo will meet today at the national headquarters in Harare.
Khaya Moyo said the media will be briefed after the meeting. The Politburo meeting comes at a time Zanu-PF is preparing for its 17th Annual National People’s Conference to be held at Mzingwane High School, Esigodini, in Matabeleland South. The conference runs from December 10 to 15.

Zanu-PF secretary for Information and Publicity Simon Khaya Moyo confirmed that the party’s Politburo is meeting today. He said the agenda of the meeting will be made known to members before the meeting.
Zanu-PF is expected to discuss the election of the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Senate President and their deputies, a development that will pave way for the first session of the Ninth Parliament. The party won 145 out of the 210 contested constituencies. The first session of the Ninth Parliament of Zimbabwe will open on September 25 according to President Mnangagwa’s proclamation. Mnangagwa is expected to set the legislative agenda for the new session.

In an interview with The Herald on Wednesday, Zanu-PF Politburo member Munyaradzi Machacha said the party will release the results of the primary election reruns after the Politburo approves the names of the winning candidates.
Said Machacha:

The primary election re-runs were held in 15 constituencies with Mashonaland West topping the list with six constituencies. The primary election reruns had their fair share of challenges with Webster Shamu being accused of stealing ballot papers in Chegutu East. It is alleged several ballot papers marked on his name were found stashed in Shamu’s vehicle.

Zanu-PF Primary Election Reruns Results Expected Next Week After Politburo Meeting

In an interview with The Chronicle in Victoria Falls on Tuesday, Zanu-PF secretary for administration Obert Mpofu said the party’s politburo will meet tomorrow to deal with the issue of primary elections on Friday.
Zanu-PF is expected to hold primary elections on 5 May. Mpofu said the politburo meeting will be held at Zanu-PF headquarters in Harare. Mpofu said the meeting will look at issues to do with primary elections and eligibility of members. Said Mpofu:

Briefing the media after Zanu-PF’s politburo meeting held today at the party’s headquarters, Simon Khaya Moyo said that the current politburo will continue until 2019.
Khaya Moyo also said that the party’s Secretary for Finance, who is also Acting Secretary for Administration Dr Obert Mpofu, briefed the politburo on the preparations for the Zanu PF extra-ordinary congress. Mpofu told the politburo that the Communist Party of China and almost all liberation movements in the sub region have accepted invitations to attend the congress.

Speaking to The Herald, Zanu-PF secretary for Administration Ignatius Chombo yesterday confirmed the meeting of the Politburo, adding that the agenda would be made known to members before the meeting. Chombo also revealed that Central Committee meeting will be held on Friday.
The Herald reports that Zanu-PF secretary for Youth Affairs Kudzi Chipanga is expected to present a report on the ongoing Presidential Youth Interface Rallies. The recent suspension of four senior members of Harare Province, Justice Zvandasara (Central Committee member), George Mashavave (Secretary for Administration) Dumisani Chipango (Treasurer) and Moffat Siwizani (Economic Affairs) is likely to be discussed considering that they were done without following proper procedure.

Speaking to The Herald, Zanu-PF secretary for Administration Ignatius Chombo yesterday confirmed tommorow’s Politburo meeting but declined to disclose the agenda.
Said Chombo:
<blockquote>We have a Politburo meeting on Wednesday (tomorrow) at the usual time 10 am. The agenda will first be known by the Politburo members and our deliberations will be shared with the media afterwards.</blockquote>
The politburo meeting however comes at a time when Zanu-PF just won the Chiwundura by-election held during the weekend. The party is also looking forward to hosting a youth rally in Matabeleland North on Friday at Somhlolo Stadium in Lupane after having hosted rallies in Mashonaland East, Manicaland and Masvingo provinces.
