Lovemore Matombo, the president of the (CASWUZ) was physically chucked out of office, after he had refused to vacate the presidency despite being well past the retirement age of 65. Matombo is 68. However, he was not alone as other memebers of the CASWUZ executive were bundled out as well.
Biggie Antonio, one of the newly elected CASWUZ executive council members said:
We have been very patient with Lovemore Matombo thinking that as an elder in the labour movement he will respect our demand for him to leave office peacefully, but he has declined to do so and the only option is to force him out
