ZESA Holding executives failed to exonerate themselves from the illegal contracting of Psychology Maziwisa’s company Fruitful Communications to do public relations for the firm, yet ZESA has a fully staffed Public Relations Department. The questioning was being done by the Mine and Energy Parliamentary Committee, and ZESA Holdings Chief Executive Josh Chifamba appeared to blame the parent Ministry saying:
I personally would not agree with outsourcing PR at that level.
When I got know about it we took some measures to stop it but there was a letter that was written by the ministry to bosses of ZPC and ZETDC introducing Maziwisa’s company.
The letter says the company was also helping the ministry with PR work and felt good that it would be good that they be extended to us.
As Zesa Holdings we were not part of the process that allocated work to those companies.
