Chinese President Xi Jinping said that his country will continue to support Zimbabwe in safeguarding its sovereignty, security and development benefits, and support the people of Zimbabwe in choosing their own development path. He said this when he met Zimbabwean President, Robert Mugabe in Beijing, China today.
Zimbabwe and China signed mega deals worth US$4 billion in December 2015 covering the areas of energy, agriculture, mining and infrastructural development, and this has seen Chinese firms going into partnerships and joint ventures with local companies as part of efforts to turn around the economy. The MDC-T recently asked about the mega deals that Zimbabwe signed with China.
