Top Highlanders official faces Zifa suspension for criticising Warriors & Zifa handwritten agreement on WhatsApp

A top Highlanders official is likely to be suspended by Zifa for allegedly equating the handwritten agreement between the association and the senior man’s team to a dog sale agreement.

The Chronicle reports that the official is a strong critic of Chiyangwa and is a close friend of a member of the Warriors’ technical team suspected of leaking the handwritten agreement signed by Chiyangwa, his deputy Omega Sibanda, Warriors skipper Willard Katsande and striker Cuthbert Malajila.

Speaking on the consequences of the criticism, a source told The Chronicle that the Zifa executive feels it was an unnecessary attack by someone in football administration and investigations will also be carried out to find out who actually took the picture of the agreement and forwarded it via WhatsApp. The official is likely to be suspended and will become the second high ranking Highlanders official to be sidelined by the association following the suspension of club chairman Peter Dube in November 2016.
