Mnangagwa throws Tsenengamu under the bus

Vice President, Emmerson Mannagagwa has called his allies such as Godfrey Tsenengamu, who have been calling on him to succeed President Robert Mugabe, “mad”.

Speaking after touring Mutare Prison Farm, Mnangagwa said:

There are these mad young people who move around saying they want Cde Mnangagwa to be President and I told them you are mad. We don’t want to hear that. We have our father (President Mugabe) who has led us for over 60 years. We have traveled with him that far and you hear young people, some of them born after independence, saying such bad things.

Mnangagwa’s comments come after Manicaland Provincial Affairs Minister  Mandi Chimene called for the arrest of Mnangagwa for allegedly inciting his followers to attack the President and the first family. This comes after former Zanu PF Mashonaland Central provincial youth chairperson, Godfrey Tsenengamu, was arrested following a Press conference at which he called on President Robert Mugabe to step down and said that First Lady Grace Mugabe was not Presidential material.
