PSL sponsorship talks with Delta Beverages positive says Kenny Mubaiwa

Premier Soccer League acting chairman Kenny Mubaiwa has described sponsorship talks with their Delta Beverages as ‘positive’.

PSL are in talks with Delta Beverages following the end of a six year sponsorship deal last December but renewal talks were being hampered by boardroom squabbles that between PSL and ZIFA towards the end of 2016. The squabbles made Delta’s marketing executive Maxen Karombo unhappy and at one time he indicated they were not negotiating for sponsorship renewal with PSL that was facing a leadership crisis following the suspension of chairman Peter Dube by ZIFA.

One of the PSL’s three-member Emergency Committee members, Kenny Mubaiwa, although he could not pre-empt the current negotiations which started last month, described the engagement as going on very well saying a position should be reached before March 18 when PSL clubs convene for their annual meeting. Said Mubaiwa:

It (the sponsorship package from Delta) is promising. But just before the AGM we should have a position so that we have something to report to the clubs.
