The Herald reports that the old CAF leadership had put in place a plan, in the hope that they would be elected back into leadership, to make sure CAPS United pay for ZIFA President, Philip Chiyangwa’s defiance.
The publication states that TP Mazembe owner, Moise Katumbi enjoys warm relations with Hayatou and that the old CAF leadership went for Bernard Camille of Seychelles who on May 5, 2013 was at the center of a controversy when Mazembe qualified over South Africa’s Orlando Pirates. The Herald argues that Mazembe get the same referee when they face a make or break tie. The referee awarded two controversial penalties which were saved by the late Senzo Miyewa.
To argue their case, The Herald claim that Camille awarded 10 minutes of extra-time and that the South African Broadcasting Corporation was forced out of the match so that they could not broadcast what was going on while those with mobile phones were detained.
