Over the weekend Masvingo Provincial Affairs minister Shuvai Mahofa was heckled by Zanu-PF youths at an inter-district meeting in Chiredzi. The supporters who quickly turned rowdy accused the minister of diverting things meant for their benefit. The rowdy supporters reportedly shouted:
Mahofa you are a thief; you stole our rice. We don’t want to be led by thieves,” angry supporters chanted, as delegates from Masvingo were introduced.
We did not invite you, why are you here with your delegates, go away
Mahofa blamed Chiredzi legislator Darlington Chiwa for inciting the crowd. However, Chiwa furiously denied the allegations saying:
Why are you accusing me before I am even introduced at this meeting? I don’t own people. These are Zanu PF supporters from Chiredzi
Why are you saying these people are from my constituency?
