Transform Zimbabwe leader Jacob Ngarivhume, who heads Zimbabwe National Electoral Reform Agenda (Zinera)’s youth committee said that MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai has proposed three ways that opposition parties can use to come up with the leader for the coalition.
The first method is for opposition parties agree on a coalition leader and fight for positions at other levels. The MDC-T leader also proposed that the parties choose a coalition leader through a method to be agreed and proceed to elections if there is no agreement. However Ngarivhume said that contesting for positions will kill the chances of opposition parties working together.
Tsvangirai proposed that parliamentary representatives should be selected equally with parties deciding who based on who is more popular in each constituency. Ngarivhume said that parties have not agreed on a formula of distribution of seats. The parties have set end of August as the date the coalition will be on ground.
