War Veterans Minister Tshinga Dube took a swipe at Manicaland Provincial Affairs minister Mandi Chimene and accused her of leading genuine war veterans when she did not fight in the Second Chimurenga.
Said Dube:
There are some people who are leading war veterans, yet they never participated in the war. If you ask them where they operated from, you hear so many stories. How can you lead war veterans when you are not one of them? You should tell us where you operated during the struggle.
Chimene leads a faction of war veterans that called for Dube to be dismissed for urging President Robert Mugabe to groom a successor to avoid the likelihood of chaos.
