Less tham 24 hours after Econet Wireless announced that for $49 a customer would get a dish, decoder, installation and one month’s subscription, the company has suspended sales of Kwese TV equipment. This comes after the Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe (BAZ) dismissed claims that Kwese TV has been licenced saying that Dr Dish had its licence cancelled after it failed to deliver My TV Africa Service.
However, Econet is still taking names of prospective customers, signalling that they expect the issue to be resolved.
