Zanu PF legislator for Buhera south Joseph Chinotimba has suggested that Morgan Tsvangirai the leader of the opposition MDC-T party may have been poisoned by his deputies, vice presidents Nelson Chamisa, Thokozani Khupe and Elias Mudzuri. Chinotimba suggested that the poisoning may have been a means of ensuring succession for the deputies. This comes after Tsvangirai was airlifted to South Africa after he started vomiting over the weekend. He is reported to be stable and out of danger.
Speaking in parliament on Tuesday, Chinotimba said:
I want to ask opposition vice presidents if they are not the ones who gave party president vaTsvangirai poison so that they take over and also I would like to know how he is feeling now?
The MDC-T vice-presidents laughed at the question and speaker of parliament Advocate Jacob MUdenda called Chinotimba to order.
