How Zimbabweans on Twitter reacted to Pastor Evan Mawarire's arrest

Pastor Evan Mawarire has been arrested yet again, the day before he was supposed to appear at the High Court to face charges of plotting to overthrow President Robert Mugabe’s government. Mawarire has been charged with subverting a constitutionally elected government, again. Mawarire was arrested while he was preaching. Here is how some Zimbabweans on Twitter reacted to Mawarire’s latest arrest.

Arresting Mawarire is probably the not cleverest thing to do. But then again, our authorities are not known for the things they get right

Opposition is in shambles, ruling party is shambles and the government is giving Zimbabweans a figure to rally behind in Evan Mawarire

The likes of Evan Mawarire should be left alone, arresting them is playing right into their hands. Intelligent law enforcement PLEASE!

So they've arrested Pastor Evan this morning. Last year we were at least 3000 at his court date. I challenge you, let's make it 10 000 now

I have to raise this in Parliament, surely the man was in a church, preaching, and we commit law enforcement agents to arrest this man https://t.co/VVyquxJkFo

Commiserations as these are trying times for all, but FB live won't save a nation. Enough arrest antics. We all been to jail and acquitted. https://t.co/U3n0KQaZoo
